How did Ricky break it down?

"look David! He keeps doing the same move every time."

Jim has the right idea. Haye has to take W.Klit's jab away, and you do that by using the feet to slide out further as W.K tries to measure you up by pawing the jab and waving it before letting go a jab-right together as soon as you look distracted by the left glove. Haye has to take that jab away, and can only do so by sliding a few inches further out of range with his feet (and throwing as W.K steps in or reaches in..)

McGuigan is one of my favourite pundits but I think the Jim Watt had the best tactical suggestions.

I don't think I've ever heard McGuiggan get a prediction right. Same with Johnny Nelson. Now that man is terrible.

I like McGuigan, but if Haye tries to do that he'll be on the canvas in no time. He'll be out of his element and can't cover that for long.

Ricky's idea totally sucks carrots, because blocking the jab has been tried and failed miserably by stronger and more durable fighters. Haye can't deal with the force and would be constantly off balance if he tries.

And I agree with most guys here Jim has the best plan. But that is the after round 3 plan imo. He has to go all or nothing in the first 3 to have a real chance, after that he maybe can get lucky with Watt's idea.

I found it amusing that the guy playing Wlad was asking about "what about if he goes to the body"... Wlad doesn't go to the body very often. That would give up his height. He also did not do any clinching. It was like he was playing 'generic tall guy' rather then specifically Wlad. He sort of showed Wald hook though, but he did it more like a side slap jab. Which Wlad does do sometimes.

The first two guys gave a strategy that was not good for Haye. They wanted to use blocking. Haye is not durable enough to stand there in punching range. The last guy had a better idea. Use movement, stay far away, don't let Wlad set his feet, Then try to come in with hard shots. and get out.

I liked Watt's suggestions. He needs to feint, feint, slide away from the jab, frustrate Wlad, and then suddenly explode randomly at Wlad when he misses. Be interesting to see if he can do that. Catching the jab won't work, Wlad's jab is so powerful it will do it's job even it is caught. McGuigan, OK, but his punching at the same time needs to be incorporated into the moving away from the jabbing range and then suddenly exploding in after Wlad misses. The ONLY way Haye will win this is if he does stuff Wlad can't cope with, i.e. make him miss the jab. If Wlad can't land the jab to make himself feel comfortable and safe then he is in BIG trouble. Combine that will him feeling Haye's power and I have a feeling he will fold. If Haye gets caught up trying to move forward blindly or doesn't make Wlad respect his power and Wlad is able to jab, jab and hold that'll be it - and it will be bloody boring until he stops Haye or wins a wide UD.

Haye definetley cannot afford to adopt Barry and Ricky's strategy, absolute suicide.
Jim Watt had the right idea and thats exactly what I'm expecting from Haye.

The thing with Wlad is he has CRACKING left hook but he isn't THAT keen on using it. He will use it to surprise you, but he tends to use it against less dangerous fighters like Austin whom he knocked out with it. If he fears being caught by a straight right - Haye's money punch, I feel he'll be too worried about getting caught with it if he throws and Haye steps back and counters, or Haye throws his straight punch between Wlad's left hook - that is a real possibility. One of the best ways I have found to neutralise a good hook (it's risky but pays off massively) is to move towards it as you throw a right hand straight down the pipe. The left hook goes behind your head or hits your extended right shoulder which protects your chin as the right hand cracks into an unexposed jaw. Still. I don't think Wlad will thrown that punch too often. Especially with Haye's speed. Haye is very good at avoiding and countering incoming shots - he is vulnerable when is attacking because he goes hell for leather. But if Wlad just wings a left hook in it could be bad news for him.
