People are always quick to have a go at Malignaggi, but he is superior to Witter, which is a fight people really wanted to see. It's easy to look at some of his fights and point out his faults, but Witter would be an easier night for Hatton.

If Paulie does lose to Hatton, a good, sensible match-up would be between him and Witter. If that does happen, expect Malignaggi to school him.

calzaghe pulled out of probably the toughest challenge out there in glen johnson, he'd of gave joe a rough time (styles imo), citing hand problems. That fight was made.As for hatton, he avoided witter(which is pretty much fact to everyone) and people still blame warren(fools) years later. That fight would've been huge over here, ricky would've made millions.I dont want to give him a payday ! WHAT? Did'nt fighters used to want to fight someone when they called em out and abused them in public ??? I dont care how much ricky makes or where he fights.Just dont make out its for the fans bull****.......

He was fighting in the States and Witter couldn't draw flies to a dump over there. If you assume that Hatton and Witter hate each other, who's laughing now? Hattons earning millions and Witters 35 years old with no title and looking for Euro level fights. Hatton must be pissing himself laughing, the situation panned out pretty well for him.

Youre saying that Hatton robbed us over some big fights after he left Warren but then only come up with Witter.

Superior technique agreed, he dont punch half as hard as witter though. There lies the problem.Witter could spark ricky, where as malignaggi would be just awkward

As far as pauli goes he's the no1 contender and 140 and a great fight imo. Hatton can't do anymore then fight the no 1 man.

Looking at this again, what Ray Hatton says might actually be the truth. The fight is around November the 22 which is Thanksgiving Day in the states. Prices for New York accommodation, flights etc around this time will be absolutely astronomical, it's a bigger day then Christmas day for the Americans and marks the start of the Christmas holiday period. Las Vegas is not a popular destination at this time and prices are remarkably cheaper.

But then again I'm really not sure if I believe it, but I really don't think its a huge issue.

Thanksgiving is actually Nov 27th this year, but you are kind of correct. Thh hotel prices in NYC at that time are year are little short of **** because of all the Xmas shopping trips. Vegas, which is about one third of the cost for acommodation most of the time will seem like an even better deal comparitively.

In the sense that he didn't happen then I suppose he did. I can't say I'm that bothered though, it would have been a good fight pre-Zoo to clear up the domestic scene but after Zoo Hattons career didn't need Witter and his level of competition has been good enough to excuse the fight not happening. Theres only really Lascano (tune up) and Urango that you'd really want to swap out for Witter, the rest are a pretty solid bunch of opponents.

The only problem with Vegas is that the flights a bit of a killer compared to NYC.

Yea, sorry the fight is in the Thanks Giving week isn't it, as thanks giving is always on a Thursday; the fights on Saturday. Los Vegas is not a destination people generally go at this time. New York will be absolutely chocca! The cost of NY accomodation will be insane at this time.

    I agree.

The Lazcano fight was one of Hattons most enjoyable ones, and Urango is increasingly lookin like a good vicory. He's now ring top ten contender, and shifting up the rankings.

Yea pre Zoo, it would have been a great fight, or perhaps later on, should Hattons career take a turn.

Personally I'm not overly bothered about not seeing the fight; with there styles it probably would have been a bit of a stinker in all honesty.

About an extra £100pp. You can stay in Vegas in a 3* on the strip based on two people sharing for £20 a night, whereas NYC will cost you £100 a night for a crap hole.

A week in Vegas will cost you the same as a weekend in NYC.

The Hatton zealots are once again (conveniently?) missing the point. Nobody is criticising him for looking for the biggest paydays....that's human nature....it's all this shite, spin and outright lies about the reasons for his decisions etc.
by doing all this they know damn well the mugs will be thinking 'oh Ricky is doing this for us, we have to go to Vegas now'. I almost pity the fools who lap it all up.
as for the handicapped lad James, I don't criticise Hatton for that. I'm sure he's always been nice to the boy and at worst it's a small PR stunt having him in the ring etc, and a PR stunt is nothing new.

wait and see how they build up Paulie

Don't be so childish Betty, people can make their own minds up whether they fancy going to Vegas and Hatton saying he's doing it because its cheaper won't make one bit of difference. You either have the time, money and fancy the trip or you don't....
