Absolutely. If it happens, wait and see my friend

What is more likely to happen is Froch will end up copping a less flawed boxer puncher with a solid chin, such as Kessler, and he'll be shutout and cast aside before getting a go at Taylor

Taylor would school him in my opinion. Taylor cops a fair amount of stick on here & I'm not really sure why. He's not an ******* & he's not too bad to watch either.:huh

Because a lot of people thought he lost up to 4 fights, yet he somehow gets a favourable verdict in every single one. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but there is something fishy in that. ****in HBO's golden boy. He had to get KO'd to lose that belt, it was a disgrace to the middleweight division.

He's a decent fella though, but as a boxer he is extremely flawed, and unless he fights a near perfect fight without showing the flaws we are accustomed to such as low hands and poor stamina Froch will do him late on after getting outboxed.

To me he always looks like he could be doing more, he seems to coast too much.

True but he never took an easy fight either. If he'd taken a Lockett type fight he would have been slated yet Pavlik gets away with a gross mismatch. I like Taylor & still think he can do something in boxing. I think Taylor/Kessler would be a lovely match up.

I wouldn't pick out Froch as a man to show up Taylor's supposed poor stamina. He can be quite lazy himself at times & against Jermain he'd be copping punches when he is so.

It's all about styles though. I was wondering how long it would be until somebody pointed out Froch's low hands/laziness too.

There is a subtle difference though, in that Froch is genuinely lazy and bides his time, however remains dangerous and maintains power through 12 rounds. We've seen that with some late KO's. Whereas Taylor actually gasses, and thus drops his hands and fights in spurts

Also, when Taylor is outboxing Froch I question how much of a dent he'll put in Froch given the lack of power we've seen over his career at the top level. Whereas vice-versa, can you be sure he's going to take Froch's power late in the fight, given he was essentially on ***** street from a couple of Pavlik rights?

Of course its kinda difficult to predict, since Froch hasn't fought great comp, but neither had Pavlik. It's an intriguing matchup, boxer vs brawler.

I saw an interview with Froch where he said you can have 10 good years as a pro. He says that it is irrelevant if that is 20-30, or 25-35. Not sure if I agree with that logic myself.

True, shame the fight probably isn't happening.

Depends on style and weight class. Generally bigger guys last longer.

A Hatton type isn't going to last as long as a Mayweather. It's just common sense really. Froch's style is not really based on athleticism, so most of the attributes you expect to decline were never really there with Froch. His best qualities are chin and power, which shouldn't go aged 35.

But even at 31 he still hasn't proved he's anything like world class, so even if he does manage to stay at the same level of performance for the next 3 years it still isn't saying much at world level.

Yeah, I'm just making the point if he starts now, or at least gets something big scheduled for next year he'll have plenty of time at world class level while fighting at his peak. If he proves good enough of course.

    Of course he will.

Some people try to validate their superiroity by denying the blazingly obvious and refusing to give credit to anyone they regard as mainstream.

It's just the same as music snobbery, wine snobbery, any of that ****.

On the Froch - Taylor thing, I agree that Froch hasn't shown he is world class. But he hasn't shown he isn't either IMO.

I can well see him beating Taylor but he is unproven and could easily get embarassed too.

Taylor was a twats hair from knocking Pavlik out. He can be sharp and hurtful. His stock has fallen but he's been in with top top fighters and held his own.

You can get odds of 100 to 1 on Malignaggi to stop Hatton any round. For a Paulie KO in any round you can get 12 to 1.

Ricky is a 1 to 4 odds on favourite

Glad I'm already going to see the Cotto fight live. I then hope to get to Berlin for Peters/Klitschko. Probably get to see both of these for the same moeny it would cost to see Hatton.
