Nearly all of us suffer with depression at some point, this kind of obsession with celebrities harping on about it, it's getting very old now. I'm all for raising awareness but we're now firmly in "poor me" territory and nobody needs to be seeing or hearing that. I wouldn't mind seeing bits of this, Hatton had a very decent career and I reckon he's a nice guy deep down.
So true. It's very true life is tough, we all go through depression and feeling sad but too many play the mental health card out there nowadays...people who genuinely have mental health issues from traumatic events or chemical imbalance I feel for - but losing at sport doesn't count. Take Simone Biles, she had to withdraw from the last Olympics due to "mental health" no, you just lost for the first time in your life and you didn't know how to deal with it.
They kind of make a mockery of it. As it's normally an excuse for their spiralling behaviour. Everyday people have to fight through it so that they can pay the bills and keep the family fed. P.s. Put your house on me against Mayweather
My only issue with this doc is will there actually be anything new about Hattons life in or out of boxing that we don't already know from before?
Never really been a fan of Hatton but this was a good watch, thought his girl friend and Billy Graham came across well. His dad not so much
I have to say I watched it and loved it. I was sceptical about watching it but thought it was great. Hatton is a bit of a clown at times now but was a British great. Some brilliant fights and the relationship with Billy was an interesting one. Compelling watch.
We learned the truth about why he fell out with his family, why he fell out with Billy Graham, why he should never have been near a ring when he fought Manny and why he is the people's champion. Taking all into account, he had a great career against huge odds. Certainly worth watching.
Huw Edwards is a perfect example. Fury is the same. That gymnast withdrew because she was perform poorly so used it as a cop out excuse, victim playing and the world rallied around her Asif something bad had happened.
Hatton made no excuses about any of his defeats at the time or since. The events outside the ring must have killed him inside and no reason to disbelieve him.
Nah pal Woe is me He couldn't give two ****s about mental at the time Is was all about the money He got that at all costs Was he happy Remember rubbing it on winters face About urm money Man of the people my fecking arse
Listen i get it as i stated in my original post i was never a fan of Hatton.Like you, never bought into all this i am just a ordinary man of the people and would love to be anonymous, while all the time turning up on every tv show, hogging the limelight when he was at his peak. However i decided to give the documentary a go and glad i did, love him or hate him it is a really good watch
