The best fighter in the world should not be taing on rematches when a top 5 p4p fighter in his weight class is calling him out.

So he can fight a guy in the weight class bellow who he already knocked out.

You just reminded why I consider you a "useless spectacle" you never cease to amaze me with ignorance, egotisitcal babble and overly annoying sense of ethnocentrism.

But a crowd of 90,000 will prove boxing isnt dead (bigger than ever in Britain but in the US I mean) + its a big up-yours to the UFC. Not that that really bothers me. I would just like to see my generations ''rumble in the jungle''.

    19k for Wrights last fight?

    19k for Mayweather v Hatton

Hatton sold 50k in 48 hours in England.

Personally I would love to see a rematch between the two, but if I'm honest, I say that as a bit of a Hatton fan. I think Hatton could learn from the last fight, all the talk beforehand was about educated pressure, but it wasn't educated it was reckless. If he can learn from it, and put it on infront of 90,000, it would be a great event. Although I can understand the boxing purist calling for PBF Cotto as until Floyd disposes of him, there will still be doubts over his domination at 147. Stupidly.

This is simple maths. He can make millions by getting his ass handed to him again by Mayweather, he wouldn’t make anywhere near that amount fighting Witter, he could very well lose that fight too, which would result in a massive loss of credibility and would be extremely embaressing, he wouldn’t have this problem by getting his ass handed him by Mayweather because Mayweather is one of the greatest there’s ever been.

Witter = High Risk – Medium Reward
Mayweather = Low Risk – High Reward

At the time Hatton was Englands golden child as well it's greatest hope to occupy the number 1 p4p spot. I admit your stadiums hold and attract more than the states but then again Soccer is a major draw and an way of life in Europe, the US is not so geared towards Soccer so our staduims are smaller we have more well known stars that fight in more locations in the states thus allowing the spread of fans through out different venues. I could go on......but the main point here is what the F*ck does Hattons ability to draw more fans to another drubbing by PBF have to do with watching a fight of signifigance, legacy and boxing supremacy?

My friend, I think you fail to understand the fact that Ricky Hatton is universally popular in the UK.

That won't change, whether he fights Mayweather or not.

While I still feel PBF would pull an SD vs Cotto I still feel Cotto will give PBF all he wishes for in the toughest fight of his career. Why would doubts over PBF's domination of the WW division be stupid? He has not even stepped in the ring with any of the current champs, his last two bouts where against a 140lbs champ and a suppossed top contender at 154lbs. When did boxing formulate a system that automatcially tallies up a fighters dominance over a division without stepping in the ring with any of the other title holders. You logic is flawed....

there's no need for a second fight. The first fight wasn't even that close. I hope this thing doesn't happen. DLH-May II is enough for me

this old chestnut again eh? i'd love to see PBF v Cotto - that is the biggest fight out there no question, but at the moment this doesn't even look remotely likely to happen, floyd's happy picking up the cash fighting blokes in leotards and has-beens (and i'm not knocking him for doing so, fair play to him if people wanna pay him fortunes to do it) and cotto seems to be content keeping his O intact. while waiting for this one to be made i don't see why hatton v PBF II wouldn't be an entertaining scrap (until PBF knocks Hatton out again of course) and wembley with a 90,000 crowd would make for a huge event. PBF v DLH II is the biggest waste of our time out there, as pointless as hatton v PBF II but far, far less exciting.

so, let's stop messing about people and have the following:

    hatton v witter/malignaggi/torres
    pbf v cotto

    then everyone's happy right?

No....it fails to provide a spectacle in your standards, I could care less if you had a million people attending a PBF vs Hatton rematch.....myself and plenty others could give two shits about it. Unlike you the amount of screaming fans packing a soccer stadium means nothing to me in the terms of spectacle. Now if Ricky enters the ring riding a unicorn I will give you your much desired "thumbs up".

Im a die hard hatton fan and would love to attend pbf v hatton at wembley amongst 90,000 fans. it would truly be an awesome event in the uk. however, elsewhere it would mean nothing and pbf will just get criticised. in an ideal world this fight could happen 1st, and when pbf wins again (im following my head not my heart here), then the 1 the world wants to see pbf v cotto can happen. Besides, if cotto wins his next 3 fights which apparently look set (gomez, majorga, margarito/cintron), the pbf v cotto matchup would be huge and more appealling than what it is now.
