I believe that his punch resistance has deteriorated as a result of lifestyle. If you doubt his chin in his prime, take a look at the Tszyu fight. Hatton walked through some absolute bombs.

Rico is the biggest ducker on this forum. Ducks every reference to his, like the other guy said, peanut head.

Stand up, Mr Peanut, and acknowledge that you have a head that belongs on a newborn, not a 300 lb fat ass

I don't see how any 140 pounder would have took punches like that and not got KTFO. Maybe not everyone would have been stopped with that one punch but they would have been on their ass and if they had been hit like Hatton was in the first round, well I doubt they could have stood up to that either unless they were not human. Rico really does hate British fighters! I like to jab the Brits fans every so often in good fun, but he just wanted to be able to make all 5 top glass jaw picks Brits!

Same shot that mayweather hit him with just southpaw opens up on that side to much and telegraphs it

Let's say it like it is -- Hatton is DONE.

I love the guy. Been following him since his fight with Eamon Magee on Shobox. He's a great fighter, tough, game, energetic, personable. Ricky's the best. But he fell short TWICE against the top level of the sport. And not just fell short but go KO'd.

So where does he really go from here? That KO tonight was so fast, brutal and one-sided that I just don't see Ricky contending anymore. He'll end up a gatekeeper who loses braincells by the day until he's punch drunk.

Ricky, please retire. Enjoy your life. You've got a lot to be proud of -- you got more balls than any of your haters. But stop fighting. Because the next KO might end you.

    :deal What he said.

Comp makes the man. Hatton chased greatness. No shame in believing. Joe didn't.

I think his chin is fine. He is a good fighter and a fine man. The problem is that he fought a faster guy, and speed creates knockouts. Duran had a great chin and look what Hearns did in that fight. Tommy used handspeed to land punches on Duran which Roberto was never hit with. Well a fast punch landed on anyone will knock them out. It is not a weak chin as much as a clean punch landing. Ricky has a good chin, but anyone will be knocked out if they are hit clean. Most great fighters have been knocked out.

I dunno, I'd prefer to keep my 0, know when to quit as I'm getting older...and not get KTFO like Hatton has. To me, Calzaghe made the smarted move. Also, in Joe's case, there was no-one that was definitely better than he was, which is different to Hatton's case, and I guess that's what drove him on.

Respect to Hatton all the same, but he's not as skilled as he thinks he is. But kudos for trying.

Yeah, I think you're right. Hatton had decent punch resistance earlier in his career, but it seems to have slipped, drastically.
