Lennox Lewis and Randy Turpin certainly, don't agree about Naz though - suppose Naz divides opinion more than most! Other names which may come into the equation include: John Conteh Joe Calzaghe Lloyd Honeyghan Ken Buchanan Courtesy of Boxrec of course.
I dont know it could be a decent fight. I also want hatton to fight witter but this isn't a bad alternative at the MSG.
Hatton-Paulie hardly sets the pulses racing. But I have to ask really who else is there at 140 outside of Malinaggi and Witter and Torres? Two of these guy are Cotto victims...I can't stop thinking about that but they are good fighters in their own right. Diaz coming up has been talked about and I would love to see that fight.
Yea, Jeff it is red hot right now and im desperate for that bout to take place....as I said in part 3. But I feel its been hot since 2007 and even 2006! It is getting pernickity I know to say that he should have considered the fight rather than Urango say...Witters stock has rose since the very decent Harris victory and yes that Hatton fight is probably at melting point right now...it really has to happen...im fast past the point of caring about Hatton. Thats the number 1 fight on my list. He has to go for this asap.
I know your a diehard fan John but I just don't like the fight. Pm is a flurrying negative, shitty Hector Camacho clone. Their is zero chance of Hatton winning impressively. Just can't be arsed with it when i could be watching a real fight between Hatton and Witter. :good
I would back Hatton to put Malignaggi away quite easily, either by late KO (not TKO) or wide UD maybe 118-110. Paulie is quick but lacks the power to stop Hatton in his tracks, which as Floyd showed is the key. I don't think Hatton will be able to stay on his chest throughout, but will give him enough punishment to beat him fairly easily.
i think now he needs to unify light welter and retire if he dos that id be happy 2 call him possibly our best ever
im not sayin its easy to do paulie and witter and torres are all great fighters(gavin rees not so much
Talking of Prince Naz - there are some similarities between Naz and Hatton's first defeats. Both were comprehensive losses suffered quite late on in their careers and both fights were held at the MGM Grand in Vegas and shared the same referee in Joe Cortez. Lets hope Hatton's career doesn't suffer in the same way Naz did after his loss to Barrera - one more fight and then ....
Quite a good point actually. I think Hatton has more about him than Naz ever did - by the end Naz was not even on this planet really, changing trainers for no reason, and thinking he was invincible. Hatton was not expected to beat Mayweather, I hoped he would, but didn't expect him to do so. Many (me excluded) thought Naz would put Marco away, given that Marco was stepping up in weight and was a veteren of almost 60 fights, many of them probably pretty brutal. I hope Hatton bounces back in champion style, and shuts the doubters up. :bbb
Oh Know the Only fight at LW is witter and and hatton, I would like to see that fight. I am a diehard I admit it but yes hatton should be looking to fight witter, but my question is if witter had been beaten of harris would people be still calling for hatton v witter or is it Just the hate for hatton clouding their reason:huh
Hamed was a waste of potential. He was easily the most capable fighter we ever produced. But he got rich too quickly and never fulfilled anywhere near his potential. He came across as a ***** in interviews but had he been managed correctly he would have been the best fighter from the Uk of all time. The Hamed that turned over Sergio Liendo would have been to much for Barrera.
I don't think he is as arrogant as Khan or as good as he was either. But as with all A list fighters there potential for it to happen.
