Ricky Hatton was in good form on saturday night at Celtic Park, Glasgow and those listening closely might have heard this little line....

'I like Khan but would fight him at the drop of a hat provided I promote the fight!'

Couple this, with the rumours of a shift of promotional outfit, Warrens comments in the Sun and we have a little bit of a story starting to come together....

Could Hatton-Khan happen next year, with Golden Boy and Hatton Promotions hosting?? I've got a feeling this might happen.

If this fight happens and Warren doesn't promote, what does this mean to Warrens standing as the leading promoter in the UK? Is this the fight to turn Hatton Promotions into a leading outfit?

    Interesting times.

I said this fight would happen ages ago. It's just too obvious for it not to happen, it makes sense for everybody.

fight would be a huge money earner for both fighters and would catch the part time boxing fans attention khan would love the fight as his pace and speed would destroy hatton inside 6 and his name would look great on khans record
personally i dont want to see it hatton has had his day and its time he walked off into the sunset and enjoy the trappings of wealth he has amassed

This would be a great fight. Khan gets a great name on his record and Hatton gets another huge paycheck.

Can def see that happening Jeff and Khan making the leap and the lawyers getting richer.

Hatton would have to get in terrific shape for this - but I guess he is going to be motivated to not be embarressed on home turf at a weight he's bossed it in the UK for years.

Next summer City of Manchester Stadium. It's too big not to happen unless either loses in the meantime. The two best known fighters in Britain, old lion v young lion etc etc.

Khan is more winnable and JMM will still be there afterwards. Marquez first is more risky and a Hatton loss would make the Khan fight afterwards a lot less attractive.

It did seem a really odd article.

Almost as if he is resigned to losing him.

Let's be perfectly frank (sorry) - he hasn't done a great job with Khan...... from being everyone's favourite Olympian he became a twat (in the eyes of many) and a figure of ridicule amongst some in the boxing fraternity due to his generally much smaller, disadvantaged opposition and liking of canvas.

I'm not saying any other British promoter at the time he signed with FW could have done much better, Maloney was and remains a bit of a fringe operator, Hennessy :-(, and so on.

    Interesting!
Maybe this is why he is putting Mitchell against Prescott. If Mitchell wins in style ...:think
