I don't know about other posters, but when I talk about Khan's chin or him in general it is certainly not to do with race. Now that is out of the way, those fighters you mentioned, did their chins improve when they moved up? Yes, it looks like they did. But the difference between Khan and those other fighters is that they were floored, hurt sometimes as well, but none of them were completely gone like Khan was against Prescott or almost stopped by a non-puncher (Limond).

Now I do hope that you are right when you say Khan's chin will improve when moving up in weight, because other than that fault he would be a true world class star IMO - fast hands, stamina, heart, movement etc. Yep, I wasn't a Khan fan before the Prescott fight, but the attitude he showed after the defeat (in the gym the next day etc.), the heart he displayed in trying to get up from the 2nd knockdown against Prescott and his rapid rise to the world stage after the disaster of the Prescott fight have converted me to being a Khan fan, but I also try and stay realistic when discussing him, for example I don't see him being able to beat Maidana, but then I hope that you are right again :good

i like amir khan but the pacquaio comparison is ludicrous at this point. khan obviously doesn't have a great chin, and he would be in with the pound-for-pound best offensive fighter in boxing.

its a pointless comparison now though, they may aswell be different era fighters since pacquaio will probably fight mayweather then retire.

Again I asked you break it down for me in boxing, I know who Manny is and where he is ranked in the world. I feel Khan's reach, speed, footwork, gameplan would give Manny problems.

Watch in the 1st round vs Cotto when he was keeping it simple and using his jab and kept moving and won the round. I think Khan jab is very underrated because he can use it from range and is very fast with it. Simple factors are Khan would be one of if not the tallest fighter Manny would of faced, and the fastest fighter ever faced. But right now Manny would beat Khan and rightly so Khan is still only 22 and developing, Manny's at his peak at 30.

You are now admitting Khan would get beat so that is a start but I still dont think he'd hold his own,not in the slightest.

Its all good using Cotto as an example but Cotto has a far better jab than Khan.
I dont think Khan has the power to fend off an offensive machine like Pac for 12 rounds. He doesn't have the power to earn his respect. Remember Khan was on the run late on against Kotelnik.

Bringing up Khans chin and Pacs power is too obvious,I think its Khans lack of power which will be his main problem in future fights. If he cant use his jab with power to keep guys coming at him, then his only back up is to run, backtrack and fight on the back foot. This is feasible against inferior fighters but the true elite operators of the sport will hunt him down, land and knock Khan out.

I do respect Khan....he seems like a good kid but all this talk of the likes of Zab Judau has even got me worried a bit.

Khan's power at 140 is still unknown for me as vs Kotelnik Khan was looking just to score points rather than trying to KO Kotelnik out something KO artist Maidana or no other fighter has come close to doing to Koteknik in his whole career mainly due to his tight defence and high guard. Khan did not really plant his feet in that fight, but i am expecting Khan to show his full force and power vs a much more hittable Salita where I dont see the fight going past 6 or 7 rounds.

I really want to see this fight happen. It's up for Hatton to decide when to retire. Not the most popular opinion but if I was Hatton I wouldn't want to have my last fight as a devestating loss.... people say there is no shame in being knocked out by a great such as Pacquiao but I say there is LOTS of shame being knocked unconscious on live TV in just two rounds by anyone!

Will be really interesting to see his tactics.
Maybe the way he fought against Kotelnik is the only way he can win fights from now on,i'm sure Roach will have the blueprint to a successful fight.
Thats not a dig at Amir,he has a flaw(chin) and he's taken steps to overcome that flaw, very successfully. Will the new weight improve his ability to take a punch...I dont know,no one does, so until the day he takes a powerful shot from someone reknowned for hitting, there will be doubts.
The days of him fighting like windmilling lunitic are long gone, which is a pity because he was never in a dull fight before, drama in every single one.

I like both fighters. Been to see a couple of each. Do want to see the fight? Deep down the only reason why i really want it, is so that we can have a night when Hatton beat Tszyu again. If Hatton beat Khan at Wembley it would be brilliant.
