If he's smart he'll take on someone easy to flatten and probably prove little in doing it. When the big test arrives I'll be amazed if he's still got what it takes.

What?? Duran got demolished by Hearns and he came back.

The punch that Pac nailed Hatton with would've knocked out any 140lb pound fighter in the history of the division. It was a perfect shot, just a shame it happened in round 2.

I agree with the OP, he's had time off, he's still young. Anyone who has been an extremely fit person in their lives and bloated up knows its not impossible to get back to the same level as to where they once were. As long he doesn't fight a super elite fighter, he'll crack some skulls.

Once he faces a world class fighter, he'll be sent packing right back to the pub life of grog and darts.

The only time I see Hatton turning some heads is because they are looking at him after getting KTFO.

Ricky is just a throwback and I have plenty of his early fights and WBU title defenses. The guy is all excitement and power in motion. He only failled against the best of his time and generation. Hatton belongs to the elite of his generation too and he will seal it with gold letters when he captures another world title to the disbelief of some and to the joy of others, I don't know how many, but believers there are some, definitely Tszyu, Maussa, Oliveira, Pendleton, Tackie, Phillips, JLC and both Juan Urango & Luis Collazo.

lower weight fighters almost never make an impact as they get older. 33 years old isnt ancient, but its not gonna go well for ricky im afraid......

Listen Phill,I would love to be wrong about this because I think Ricky's a gem,but you're forgetting the general consensus was that Ricky was ineffective at 147.Some idiot came on the other day and told me I knew **** all because he'd only fought once at welter, but he actually fought twice. One he lost quite expectedly, but the other was supposed to be a coming out party and he toiled quite badly.
I'd be over the moon to be wrong on this one mate, but I think by the second fight we might see signs of worry.
