listen floydtoys...ya'll think floyd would murder cotto cause of the hatton fight
hatton is not a pressure fighter....when you say PRESSURE FIGHTER, you better know what one is before mentioning it....

    CHAVEZ SR
    COTTO
    WILLIAMS
    MARGO

even though all different, they were/are pressure fighters....someone who is gonna work his way in with punches (not lunging), and once in there, work on uppercuts or hooks to your body (not hugging).....

ricky does the exact same thing everytime, he bounces right, bounces left and then BAM, LEFT HOOK LEAP FROM ABOUT 4 FEET AWAY....

cotto will not do that, cotto will jab floyd until he actually gets in there, once in there YOU BETTER BET YOUR ****EN LIVES ON IT THAT IT'S GONNA BE FLOYD HUGGING AND CLINCHING....

and yes, castillo was the blue print on how to beat him..even oscar used it a bit and IMO did enough to win the fight (but thats a whole other story)....

all i'm saying is, to dismiss cotto based on RICKY HATTON FIGHT IS ****EN INSANE

that's like comparing floyd to zahir raheem and saying that they are exactly allike......

out of all welter's out there...cotto, margo and williams(based on size alone) will give him hell and possibly beat him.....

williams may be sloppy, but he throws alot of pitty pat jabs to come in, which is more than a lunging left hook from 4 ft away....

margo tends to get sloppy alot, but he does have the chin to take that right hand just to dish out a few uppercuts or hooks.....

    based on what....

to me, he's more of a leaping brawler.....

i mean, i like ricky, but to compare him to cotto is insane....ricky is hardly ever in a position to throw a solid shot...a pressure fighter cuts the ring off really good, and is always available for some nice planted shots...

Cotto still gets hit way too much to be able to beat Floyd.

Hatton is a pressure fighter fighter, but not a great one. He doesn't work his way inside as effectively as a great pressure fighter, he has serious defensive liabilities on the inside, and he mauls and grapples more on the inside than most pressure fighters. The best pressure fighters work very technically on the inside, throwing fluid combinations and moving their head. This is what separates Hatton from the greats. He's a pressure fighter nonetheless.

you act like floyd throws punches in bunches.....based on what i've seen...if zab or shane couldn't do it (as far as put cotto down), neither can floyd.....

he's either a pressure fighter or he's not...there aint no in between....

even though quicker, hatton is still alot easier to hit than cotto....why, cause he does the exact same thing every ****en time.......

Hatton keeps the pressure on his opponent. Pressure fighter. Pretty simple.

Agreed, Hatton just has flaws about the way he pus the pressure on, and lets face it, if your flawed on the way in against floyd, your gonna get beat

Zab's accuracy isn't on par with Floyd's. And Mosley's workrate couldn't keep up with Cotto.

To beat Floyd you need a semblance of a good defense. De La Hoya troubled Mayweather. Castillo had an underrated defense.

You can't get hit as much as Cotto and expect Mayweather not to punish you.
