    exactly.....

i mean, in that case...everybody but willie pep and pernell whitaker were pressure fighters....cause in reality, they all come forward...it's a matter of how you do it that makes you a pressure fighter.....:good

hatton gets criticized alot because he doesn't really change his tactics up even when the fight isn't going in his favor, look at his fight w/ floyd , he was getting timed by floyd everytime he came in and he never even tried some kind of head movement ect , i like ricky and he is a good fighter but he needed to find a way in w/o taking shot after shot , would cotto do the same ? i don't think so but i still think floyd would adjust and beat cotto in a decision .

I used to think Cotto would stand a chance before the Hatton victory. But after it becomes painfully clear that obviously the pressure and swarm method just aint working. And if thats Cotto's onl gameplan is the pressure Mayweather, Cotto being a slower puncher then FAtton, then its going to be a long long night.

Your best bet would be Paul Williams, a fighter like Cotto with a weak defense and propensity to be rocked, is gonna be eay pickins.

he doesn't follow you around, he actually moves from side to side so that you don't know from which angle the punch is gonna come from. He's got short arms and extremely fast foot speed so it would be stupid for him to throw a jab cause by the time he can throw a hook or cross he is already too close to his opponent. He applies alot of pressure and waits for the opponent to fall for a feint or make a mistake before leaping in.

One of the big reasons why Floyd beat Hatton is that he outfeinted him.

Freddy's just being a dumb latin-hugging nationalist yet again. HE sucks any latinos balls and doesn't let the truth get in the way of a good ball licking

Ricky Hatton isn't a pressure fighter???? Go and find out what a pressure fighter is dumbass. Ricky throws 600-800punches in an average fight and thats a hell of allot more than your fellow Latino.

Is Cotto more skilled at disecting an opponent? Yes, but that doesn't mean Cotto isn't an easy fight for floyd and it doesn't mean Ricky isn't a pressure fighter

have you ever boxed before ??

    trained ???

    sparred ???

they teach pressure by working behind the jab, and once in, make your opponent pay.....

not, LEAP WITH HOOKS TILL YOU GET IN, ONCE YOU GET IN, HUG

You won me over with that sentence.:good:good:good

But I must say that Hatton is a pressure fighter - just a different kind of pressure fighter from Cotto. A Chavez fan should appreciate a good body puncher like Hatton. Even JCC's vaunted body attacks were largely absent from his encounter with boxing wizard Pernell Whitaker.

yeah man, but you can't be 30percent of something and still be considered that kind of fighter....

paul williams throws alot of jabs...pitty pat, but he throws them

but would you call him a great jabber and put him in the same league and wladamir klitshcko.....

Look man, it takes a while to understand the intricities of this sport.

It's more difficult than two guys out there punching eachother.

DOG, i'm a big hatton fan....but he is not a pressure fighter...

pressure is something you apply physically and mentally....when you have cotto coming in on with with a hard ass jab, you dont know what to do...cause he's either gonna hook your liver, head or throw a straight right across your face...after that, you know he's gonna throw some power combos....NOW THAT'S PRESSURE

hatton...coming at you bouncing from side to side might look good, but what good is it when half way there, he lunges at you with a left hook......:deal

I don't think you give Paul enough credit for his punching power. YES..he throws a lot of punches but they have some pop. Judging from the Margarito fight would not be a good way to judge his punching power b/c Antonio has a great beard. Paul put Mathysse away if I recall and he has a good chin not to mention he has a great KO percentage even if some of the names on his record are sketchy.
