Just because thats how they teach you pressure doesnt mean its the only way to pressure. Ricky Hatton is the definition of pressure. Yes I've boxed and Ricky Hatton does jab his way in against lesser opposition. How many Hatton fights have yo useen? Easier said than done against Floyd. Its easy to talk as if Hatton is a bum now hes been beat. ANYWAY THIS IS A BLATANT ATTACK ON FLOYD TO DISCREDIT HIS WINS.
MOFO, i'm a bigtime hatton fan...but he is not a pressure fighter at all.....pressure fighters make you think, hatton does the exact same **** everytime....i understand what most of you are trying to say "that he comes forward" "that he mauls his opponents"...yes, but the same can be said about every damn fighter except for floyd, whitaker, pep etc etc..ya'catching my drift..... castillo 1 and the first 6 rounds of oscar vs floyd, NOW THAT WAS PRESSURE.....ricky's just hyper :yep
I'll agree with you on 1 thing - not using a jab and not throwing constant punches on the inside will make you ineffective against Mayweather BUT RICKY HATTON IS A PRESSURE FIGHTER. A pressure fighter throws a high volume of aggressive punches, comes forward, closses the gap and uses volume to make an opponent make a mistake. Ricky Hatton didnt throw the jab and use different angles against Mayweather. He did against Tackie, Phillips and in his earlier career though but he started using the grabbing tactics as a substitute for good defense at the top level. Cotto is very good but does he bring anything new that Castillo, Corrales, Chavez and Hatton havent presented to Floyd in the past? I don't think so

Ricky Hatton is definitely a pressure fighter, he comes forward, bullies you into the ropes and pounds on you all night long. Becuase he is smaller, he happens to be quicker than most slow footed pressure fighters like Margarito and Cotto. But his intent is the same, to be in your face the whole 12 rounds, to hit you anywhere he can, arms, shoulders, hips, etc. The only difference between Cotto and Hatton, is that Cotto is naturally bigger and hits harder. Hatton also wrestles and mauls more than Cotto, though Cotto will drop a low blow now and then.
