His timing and punch resistance is gone, so is his stamina. That shot ended him because he was gassed from hitting air all night.

To be fair to him he wasn't wrong, apparently Marciano used to attack the upper arms of his opponents so they could no longer throw,OP just got his fighters mixed up ...........again.

Yeah remember Ali saying how his arms were hurt during the sparring for the computer fight and how the Rock broke some guys arm in a fight. Yes wrong fighter again, but also those aren't "arm punches" he threw them with full force.

How do you confuse Collazo with Jose Luis Castillo?

i will tell you why he shouldnt come back.
on the performance: For a guy who hasnt fought in 3 and a half years, he fought very well. but considering he fought in a bigger weight division, against a former world champion who MAY have troubled a prime hatton.

the worrying thing for me was that, he had no real power at the weight, and his style and defense had not changed.
i thought he was waaay too anxious and fighting at 150 mph with bad defense.

After hearing for months how he has become a better fighter since training his own stable of fighters, after months of hearing how he tells his fighters to feint before you go in, SLOW IT DOWN and be a little more patient and how it influenced him- I expected just that. lol i expected a welterweight dwight muhammad qawi !

So, he hasnt changed and retirement is the best plan of action for ricky's health.
he gave us some awesome nights...
I wish him all the best in future ventures as a trainer and promoter.

He should have fought a Journeyman or two(one that would give him some rounds to see where he's at) before he took a fight.

I agree, however I personally think what happened last night would have happened sooner rather than later.

Ero,don't you think he'd have done better with an easier run-out against say,Amir Khan?

Nice avatar, but very faulty thread. Hatton's lack of defense and boxing acumen kept him from beating the elite in his prime and were even worse. He got hit with everything but the ring post (again) and is lucky he was fighting Senchenko, not somebody with more pop.

1 round KO against Khan mate. I would have bet half my savings on it happening. Even now, I fancy Hatton to do a job on Khan. Khan has no inside game. Hatton is a master at getting his foot on the inside.

Those giving me heat about confusing Collazo with Castillo. Easily done. Both are Mexican names, both sound similar, start and end with same letter, both are 3 sillabells long. Does not change the fact that my boxing knowledge is second two none.

I believe Hatton will retire for good now. Probably a wise choice, but I still think he's world class.

    someone define world class.

ricky went up a weight class beat luis collazo, i dont think a euro bum could do that

in his prime, hatton was world class, just about, he outboxed and stopped malignaggi, could argue paulie is world class too. could argue there both ****.

    well anyway, theres only one...

I agree that he's fringe world class, and that he would've beaten senchenko had he taken several tuneups before fighting him. coming back against a guy like senchenko after three and a half years makes me question what hatton thought of his chances in the comeback.

I personally believe that he can come again. why didnt he fight a lower level guy, or two or three before going in against a top rated contender? that **** is stupid to me.
