Hatton deserves his props too many khan dickriders here

Hattons only losses came against the two greatest fighters on the planet at the moment, guys who will go down in history as amongst the greatest to ever lace the gloves (and he didnt do bad against floyd imo)....

all this talk about 'he lost when he got to the highest level' who hasn't?

Mayweather has never lost and Pac destroyed highly rated top level opposition like Cotto and De La Hoya!!

I wouldn't describe him as a legend but give props where props is due!!

You dont have to be great to be a legend. Eddie the eagle Edwards is a bit of a legend in some peoples eyes.

But then Hatton was fantastic anyway, some of his opponants were not at their best, some of them were but they were all fighters that would quickly prove you were out of your depth if you were, and Ricky wasnt. His style not pretty but very affective and it took a pure elite boxer to really out fight him. He went up against much better boxers whose boxing skills could not keep him off them. His style was crude and raw but dont be fooled it did the trick.

Losing those two fights isn't even the main criticism of Ricky. There's a ****ing truckload of great fighters that have lost to Floyd and Manny.

However, there's no denying that he reached the pinnacle of his career by beating on an old Kosta Tzyu, and subsequently ruling a 140 division that wasn't very strong. He was great for what he was (a rough mauler), until he was forced into situations where he wasn't given the freedom to use those tactics. We don't even need to look at the Floyd and Manny fights to realize his limitations. Just watch his gift decision against Collazo.

I admit he does get far too much criticism for his only losses, but at the same time, he gets put on a ridiculously high pedestal whenever we mention him alongside the current crop of LWWs.

This is the only argument the pathetic Hatton fan boys can come up with.

Hatton is Mayweathers only KO victim in 6 years.

Pacquiao smashed Hatton to bits and nearly killed him as Hatton was so far out of his depth.A 140lb club fighter could have put up a better fight against Pac than Hatton did that night.

Hatton got brutally stopped by the only two live opponents he went in the ring with as his record is padded with over the hill names and tomato cans.

Hatton was a good fighter but he was well matched. I dont think he would destroy everyone at 140. Guys like Peterson, Bradley and yes even Alexander would be competitive. Id favour Khan to beat him.

He is a legend for what he brought to the sport though.

"He was promoted to a level of his incompetence".

Hatton was incompetant at the very highest level when matched against PBF and PAC, fine below that level.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Hatton would ****ing MURDER El Chino, I mean he would demolish him, DESTROY him.

Hatton vs khan would be interesting but Khan keeping Hatton off him? if he couldn't keep Maidana off him no ****ing way does he keep hatton off him...

he was a very good fighter, underappreciated and disrespected on these boards too much these days, but he wasn't a great fighter.

very good fighter and certainly a legend, as you don't have to be the absolute best to be a lengend...
