very well matched.Never really had one punch knock out, more of a wear em down type fighter when up against experienced guys, fair enough he caught maussa with big shot, finsihed few with single body shots but ricky never had hard punching power.
Look at his record before becoming champion, an ageing phiilips, ageing tackie, even some would say an ageing tyszu, bit harsh that.
No disgrace in losing to mayweather or manny.tho the way he fought tactically was joke.dodgy win v collazo, win against another ageing guy in castillo.very well matched.

That made me want to use one of the smiley faces for my first time on ESB.

It would have been the guy who opens his mouth in shock and spins backward.

    No, it really isn't.

Hatton is a better body puncher and had better punch technique, but in terms of raw power Maidana wins by a sizable margin.

Great fighter, who fought em all an did well, he was a hard living come forward fighter, he was never gonna last long, he got to 30 an then was shaky, no surprise here?!? we seemto think that fighters can last to 40 now with no problems, guess what!? Only the slippery ones can or george foreman! You have to give credit to Hatton, he truly was a great fighter, and a good bloke! Rant over lol

As far as the other top guys at 140 are concerned:

    Hatton/Bradley is virtually a 50/50 fight, I can't call that one.

Hatton/Maidana and Hatton/Matthysse would both be good fights where I slightly favour Hatton. But I wouldn't put any money down on them.

Hatton/Alexander would look like the Bradley fight but without the butts.

I would say a bit of both, unfortunately for Hatton the lww division lacked top quality operators during his time, I would back him to beat any of the current 140 fighters though with bradley being the most competitive. The way Khan got pinned against the ropes by maidana several times was a concern as Hatton had much better footwork than Maidana and would have really punished him to the body.

Wasn`t there an earlier thread that most vouched Hattons resume was still better that Khans? Khan has yet to fight Floyd and Pacquiao so even though Ricky lost to them he still holds a better record so far. That so far rubbishes your comment doesn`t it?

Khan would go more than 6 minutes with Pac and wouldn`t be PBF`s 2nd KO in 7 years after Hatton.

Khan wants all the belts at 140 and has called out Bradley,Hatton wanted no part of Cotto,Judah or Witter.

WBU fraud fighter. In all honesty he is only slightly better than Mattew Hatton. A drunken fat **** tbh. One good win over a shot tszu does not make Hatton a hall of fame fighter. Slightly above average, nothing more.

I doubt he thought that when he looked at his bank balance after that fight.
