Firstly, I've never been Hatton's biggest fan but have always wanted him to do well in his big fights - last night was no different. It was tough to watch that unfold. Even watching him walk to the ring, you got the feeling that something bad was about to happen. Hatton knew early on that he wouldn't be able to take too many of those punches Pacquiao was landing with regularity and so it proved. After the second knock down, you could tell he knew it was a case of **** or bust. It was a bit like watching a game of poker between two people.. except one guy has 95% of the chips and the other kept trying to go all-in - he was eventually going to get wiped out. Still, when the end came, it was shocking and it looked pretty gruesome. I'm glad he seemed alright in the end and just his pride battered but there's nowhere to go for Hatton now. He's had a great career, made an absolutely amazing amount of money, lived the dream but now is the end. Retire in good health Ricky and enjoy the rest of your life being mobbed wherever you go, doing the dinner circuit rounds and look back with pride at becoming Britain's favourite succesful boxer ever.
