Ricky Hatton - Major Announcement

I mean, the news of him retiring came out... what, two month or so ago? Why does it need to be repeated when he said it himself.

 

He gets to walk out to 'there's only one Ricky Hatton' without doing anything.

True. It's pretty much well known that he's retired unofficially, so yeah, it'll be a bit crappy to call a press conference to tell us something we already know.

But I can't see it being anything else. He's certainly not making a comeback. Maybe an official retirement allows him to go out of the sport properly, rather than fading into obscurity like Naseem did. It'll also give him a chance to unveil and promote himself as a full-time boxing promoter to the casuals who perhaps aren't aware of his new job.

Probably me just butthurt he's not fighting again but it's so self centered to announce his retirement in a press conference when he's already ****ing announced it. Let it go, Ricky. We don't care.

 

Just seen on Sky Sports News that its his official retirement for the 5th time
