WELL IMO Morales is more past it than Hatton, i would pick Hatton in that one. However Marquez puts a serious:bbb beat down on Hatton:yep

    My sentiments also.
I believe Hatton mauls Morales at 140 lbs.

Two things works against Morales against Hatton......he does'nt have the physical strenghth to stay in the pocket and sharpshoot.......and he is neither quicker or faster than Hatton.

Morales has not proven to be a puncher at any weight above 126 lbs......I really dont see what Morales could do against Hatton to gain Hatton's respect.

I'd hate to see this happen to Morales, he's just been a credit to the sport that you'd hate to see him used as a stepping stone to ignite an interest to the masses for a late year JMM-Hatton showdown........

......but I think that would be exactly what GBP would be doing if they fed Hatton, Morales, while having JMM knockout Juan Diaz again......it would set the stage up for alot better interest for a JMM-Hatton PPV toward the end of the year.

Interesting that you'd feel that way.....I'm of the belief that Hatton who was thinking of making a comeback, may not have the confidence and belief that he could compete against Marquez.
The reason for GBP to offer Hatton a Morales fight, is that Hatton likely would step up against Morales more confident of himself seeing that Morales too has been grossly out of shape the last few years......and with that fight with Morales would come the confidence that maybe he could beat Marquez as well.

You should watch his last fight... he shook off most of the rust and looked good.
Morales is going to fight again one more time...before going for a belt.

I don't want to see Ricky fight either guy. Ricky was exciting and exceptional, but if he is on the downside of his career, it would not be fair to Ricky for him to lose to either of these blown up jr lightweights just for a payday. In his prime, Ricky would have beaten both guys.

I actually like the idea of Hatton and Morales going at it with the winner going against JMM. That would be a great fight for Marquez and exciting enough between the two contenders. Also, could you provide a link? I'd like to see the dates and language used to see if this is still on the table (if it's in Spanish that's fine.)

I'd have to see that whole fight to give a better opinion, but it sure looks like in the later round highlights he was fighting on guile and wit.

I'd reckon Morales could still give most fighters a run for their money for a few rounds, but imo he was never a late round stamina guy.
His stamina in the late rounds was never a strong point for him, so thats certainly not going to help him against these physically stronger fighters at 140 lbs and above.

.......but I will say this, he's given so much to the sport not to deserve the opportunity to give it a go.
If Morales were to look good against a ranked 140 pounder, I'd welcome seeing him vs either Hatton or Marquez.
