Ricky Hatton on Junior Witter (from The Ring magazine)

Hatton had ducked him for years. He sounds a right sneaky ******* talking about seeing an honest pro like Witter 'squirm'. Witter just wants to fight the best.....they can't all be frauds and still make a ton of cash like Hatton. Witter would knock him out faster than Mayweather did.

 

If witter wants to fight the best why has he fought nobodies for almost his entire career, funny how people give hatton **** for fighting better people than witter has but forget the **** level of competion witter has been in with.

 

You dont really get it do you? He was promoted by FW.Then tossed in the ring with Zab on 4 days notice because FW didnt want him anymore.Despite having an awful career start because of FW he was able to win ALL domestic titles and go on to become a world champ despite being a known and dangerous commodity. He wasnt wrapped in cotton wool like Ricky and certainly didnt have any hand outs or silver spoons. You might want to watch some of his fights or do your research instead of just opening your mouth after you`ve anaylised boxrec for a bit.

 

I have seen plenty of boring witter fights and he has fought alot of nobodies and performed badly against them.

guys like N'Dou, Harris, Kotelnik and Corley are hardly nobodies....he dominated and brutally knocked out Harris....decked the rock hard N'Dou twice, and heavily. Those were not snoozers.
Whatever floats your boat...I find almost every single Hatton fight boring.
Hatton's resume is hardly great. Ass handed to him and knocked out by Mayweather, beat old and shot Castillo and Tszyu.....and who else?

 

Harris who had already been beaten by carlos maussa, what a big win that really was. The rock hard ndou who as lost to every good fighter he has ever fought, kotelnik who again has beaten nobody of note and lost to the only two half decent guys he has fought. Chop chop who had already lost to judah and mayweather and then been koed by cotto.
Not a great example to make hatton's look bad, i don't think alot of you get the fact that not everyone loves ricky hatton, he isn't one of my favourite fighters but i find it laughable that guys like you give him **** and then defend people like witter.

Who has Hatton fought, besides Tszyu?

 

Tszyu who had already been knocked out by Vince Phillips and was half-retired, Castillo who had past it and had lost countless times, Maussa who was a 1-hit wonder if ever you saw one.....you see you can pick holes in anyone's record. I've not even started with all the cans on Ricky's padded record.

Witter has been asking for the fight for a long time, Hatton avoiding it for a long time. Lets see it happen.

 

Hatton has fought the names no matter if they are past it or not why hasn't witter made these kinf of fights to get his name out, if he was so serious he would have been going after bigger names but instead he hasn't. I am not saying hattons level of comp is better but witter needed some bigger names, after fighting judah so early he went backwards.

 

how did he go backwards? If you knew about boxing you would know about the circumstances surrounding that fight and how he's unbeaten since, beating some good guys.
He's been chasing the big name of Hatton for a long time, and calling out other big names. What can he do if nobody wants to fight him?
Witter's is a strange situation...he's a top fighter, everyone knows it. Warren and Hatton have a big part in the beating down of Witter, keeping him in the shadows. Running scared.

 

Well he fought what was one of the best 5 fighters p4p at the time on a weeks notice and then has not fought anyone as good since. Is that going forwards?

 

You can't hate on hatton's resume and clap witters. That just demonstrates extreme bias.

 

I dont think anyone's hating on Hatton's resume. I think people are annoyed he won't face the top challengers like Witter.

Witter can't get the top fights, Hatton can. Witter will fight the best opponents who will fight him
