Ricky Hatton on Junior Witter (from The Ring magazine)

Hatton will beat Witter anytime of the day . . . even if they fight tommorow.

 

Hatton is starting to sound like Mayweather ("fought nobody", "made no money")

 

i love the way that a year ago witter wouldnt last 6 rounds with ricky,but now that ever since ricky has destroyed JLC and lost to the best in the world,apparantly witter would take ricky out!
witter would never stand a chance he may have the skills but he wouldnt be able to contend with ricky,a midway knock out for ricky!

 

he's fought for world titles at 2 different weights in his last 6 fights including castillo, koysta and p4p #1 pbf, but you think people are annoyed he won't face "top challengers" like witter who's only just won a belt.

 

Witter was excellent against a comebacking Harris, that might have something to do with it as well, but I see your point.

I would like to see Hatton fight and beat Malignaggi in NYC and Witter to beat another good fighter and then have the unification fight in England.

 

Hatton has just fought the consensus p4p No1 yet according to many on here he is running scared of Junior Witter.

 

Witter is on the decline now though - without a doubt. He was at his best 3-4 years ago. Simply put, Hatton gives him a slow and sustained mauling if/when they fight.

 

Its come and passed.Who`s his next fight supposed to be against? Let me guess some russian road sweeper?! His just come off fighting PBF correct.The best fighter on the planet.Thus he must maintain his current success even though he lost handily by continuing to fight the best his division has to offer which is Junior Witter and Paulie.Witter is the number 2.So if he doesnt fight him its fairly safe to say his running scared.If not make the FIGHT!

 

The problem with that is Junior Witter isn't anything like as quick, talented or experienced as Mayweather. He doesn't have Mayweather's timing. I also think his reflexes are slowing.

Remember he has a totally different styl to Floyd, he fights like Johnny Nelson when he's negative and Prince Naseem Hamed when he's being aggressive. He looks flashy against subpar opponents, but he's negative and often dull against quality (Judah and Corley spring to mind.)

Watch Barrera Hamed and you will see how that switch-hitting, counter-punching low-hands Brendan Ingle style falls to pieces under pressure. Ricky Hatton cant counter-punch, and he only knows how to attack, but if you let him attack your giving him control of the fight. Witter wont be able to contain Hatton like Floyd, he'll be too defensive and not hurt Hatton like Mayweather did.

Malinaggi is a bigger threat to Hatton than Witter.

Ricky didnt want to fight even though Junior said winner takes all.Thats how confident he is of a win.
