You hatton fans dont fool me Nulty, I know you will all be full of the "Ricky cant win" just to cover your own asses when he gets spanked, but I KNOW you hatton nuthuggers to a man deep down think Ricky will smash Floyd to pieces. Your just playing it safe, but come on Nulty, let it out. Forget sneaky feelings, just let your true feelings go. Tell me that Rickys gonna win by KO with a left hook to the ribs cos I KNOW thats what you are all thinking:D:deal

Dont worry, I wont hold it against you when Ricky is flat on his back, honest;)

Ok you asked for it you've got it. I've explained in numerous other threads how I think Ricky can win. Right now I'll go on record with you Hatton will beat Mayweather. Dredge this up if I'm wrong I'll take the knocks like a man as will you if i'm right. I haven't been doing any damage limitation and don't need a place to hide.

Actually we should try to arrange a ESB meet up for this fight, If we could get a venue agreed and everyone to come along it would be insane.

PS: I mean a venue in the UK fir us poor/cheap gits who won't travel to vegas.

It'll be a one sided brutal beating in which Hatton gets stopped. No way in hell does Hatton win this fight, not a chance.

I am being honest, I don't think he had much chance at all. I am not covering my back as I have stated before the fight was signed that I would pick Cotto and PBF to beat Hatton but I favour Hatton against all the rest, Witter, Paulie, Harris etc etc.

To me Hatton is most vunerable to fast accurate shots as opposed to single knock out punches, he showed he can take big shots against Phillips, Tackie and Tsyzu. But it is well timed combinations that trouble him, and it was these from Collazo that had him hurt. PBF is all about fast combinations, he hurt DLH with his punching at times and Hatton is going to have to walk through bunches of lightening shots just to get in range.

Once in range he is facing the best defensive fighter of the age, the shoulder roll, the lateral movement off the ropes....it is very tough to land anything meaningful and as you open up he hits you with stinging counters.

I see a late TKO or wide wide UD for PBF.

But I don't think that is some huge indictment of Hattons ability, he is world class. But he is not good enough to beat one of the most gifted P4P fighters ever....there is no shame in that.

first lets clear up a couple of things.

    1) I never went along with that stuff about Hatton checking a sombrero on Arthur, and always thought it accidentally came off with the ropes.

    2) Hatton has only about 15% chance of beating Mayweather.

    3) I'm NOT a Hatton fan. Too many things to **** me off like the ducking of Witter, dirty style, many of his fans are morons (not really his fault mind), building his opponents up to be something proper boxing fans know they're not, constant playing up to the 'jack the lad' ****.

having said all that I want him to beat Mayweather, who is a complete knob.

My take on Gayweather - Fatton

I cant see ricky being knocked out
I cant see ricky getting near enough PBF to knock him out
PBF dances and runs and wide UDs a frustrated Hatton

I would love Hatton to KO PBF, but lets face it Floyd is P4P no 1, has all the skills in the world, and has no intention of brawling anyone so will win this from distance.

Here's hoping for a Honeyghan esque victoy for Ricky.

Dunky you are 100% correct in my opinion as to how this fight will play out. In fact I have a feeling that PBF will be even more masterful than his destruction of Gatti and Corrales. Have you noticed that majority of the people predicting Hatton will win are basing it on their hatred of PBF rather than a proper assessment of their skills, abilities, attributes and the level of competition they have faced. The other thing to note are the intangibles which you have pointed out that PBF wants to make a definitive statement against the great white hype of the 21st century. This reminds me a bit of Larry Holmes versus Gerry Cooney. The funny thing is that Hatton has started to believe the hype around him. Personally I think Hatton may well be ruined after this fight.

How is he a "great white hype"? You make it sound like the divison has long be dominated by black fighters and white people from around the world have flocked to the first white hope. This is not the heavyweights of 1970-1990.

    Tsyzu anyone?

The lighter weights always have their fair share of Mexican fighters and other races from around the world.

Hatton has beaten Tsyzu and beaten Castillo. He is now facing the P4P king and losing to him does not mean he is hype it means he failed to beat an unbeaten phenomenon who has proven too much for a host of top fighters.

Or is everyone who PBF has beaten just hype too?

This is like Rocky Balboa vs Apollo Creed

Only PBF lacks Creeds post fight humility in defeat

    im certain of that

That is the point Terry D you have to respect PBF as the absolute professional. He is certainly a more likeable personality than ODLH because there is nothing fake about PBF, what you see is what you get. Hatton is is a nice lad as well all said and done perhaps when this is over and done with they can be friends?

Now for the other guy who queried the great white hope point. I don't see Hatton as a great white hope as such but the context of boxing and what I think Dunky meant is that rightly or wrongly when you look at the histiorical context of boxing that this mantle might be placed on Hatton however unfairly. My regard for Hatton is much higher than to put the tag on him but unfortunately it does not mean that this will not be the case. Look at the way those who dislike PBF and support Hatton slag him off and tell me that the Holmes vs Cooney thing is not at play at least on a sub conscious level. I don't make the rules but they are there. I am read comments like "I don't think Hatton will win but hopes he kicks PbF's ass". The question is why? If PBF was Bruno type character he would be loved by Brits but why should he pretend to be what he is not. People have to be who they are period and it does not make them any worse or better than others.

How can you possibly like a person that refers to himself as both pretty and money in the same sentence, thats how shallow he really is. He doesn't have a personality just a representive because he's so insecure.
