You guys should rewatch Hatton VS Tzyu. Look at all those nasty intentional shots to the back of the head from Hatton. No wonder Tzyu got damaged from those. Writing Hattons performance that night down as a win is simply bananas.

That was exactly why they brought Hatton up. The same reason why the UFC tends to protect charismatic UK fighters and keeping guys on despite having losing streaks. UK fight fans are a loyal bunch. They're going to pad his record to build him up for that big payday.

Of course Hatton has a padded record. I can't think of a single boxer who doesn't.

Has be beaten more than 4 notable fighters? No. Doesn't mean he's a crap fighter. He may be overrated by some who consider him one of the greats. But I think most people rank him fairly. A good fighter. Just not elite.

I'll have to rewatch it. I was pretty much a kid when that fight happened and I never noticed it.

Castillo wasn't that faded.....he was 2 journeyman fights out of his ko victory over diego corrales.......and has had 13 fights since hatton, ricky broke 2 or castillos ribs in a body crunching barrage of a fight....

from the tszyu fight hatton fought top named very respected contenders or title holders, only losing to the top 2 p4p fighters on the planet at the time.

similar to how froch is treat by readers now, got to the top of his sport and fights top names but gets slated and tbh lesser hearted and warrior like fighters get accolades.......

hatton didn't cherry pick, didn't duck anyone.......more than can be said for a few out there

ricky was a great little fighter i dont think people giv him credit enough for the way he dismantled the likes of vince phillips and ray oliveria who had never stopped before he met hatton

personally i think VVarren spoonged on him for too long and by the best of him came and went after the kostya fight,,
in sayin that he was the #1 guy in his division, unified the title and even popped up in weight to beat a pretty game luis collazo,,
dont think he can be too ashamed at gettin beat by the best two of his generations and gave a better showing against floyd then 95% of his oppostioin have anyway

when its all said and done i think he can be quite happy with how his boxing career turned out

i dont think hatton gets overrated
he was a solid fighter and did what calzaghe should have - left war+en, crossed the pond and got his career defining fights against the best fighters of his era

hatton, for me, deserves enormous respect for earning those fights - and there's no shame to losing to prime pac and floyd

It's a boxing match, not a dance. Did Mike Tyson play by the rules? Did Bernard Hopkins play by the rules? The object of the boxing match is to take your opponents head off...by any means necessary in some cases.
