Shocked to hear of this tragic news. Ricky Hatton was a fan favorite, a damn good fighter, and an overall awesome bloke. He was quite the character and had a great career who wasn’t afraid of fighting the best. Boxing will seriously miss this man. RIP Hitman Hatton
In his prime, Ricky was great. Supposedly, he was training for what was probably an ill-advised comeback. He always gave everything in the ring, had a huge heart, and was very generous to his fans. I remember him as a well-oiled buzzsaw with a killer instinct. He also had a unique and lovable personality that won the adulation of the masses. A working man's hero, his humor and tenacity earned him the loud and raucous chants that could be heard from ringside to the rafters every single time he fought: "One Ricky Hatton, there's only one Ricky Hatton. walking along, singing his song, walking in a Hatton wonderland." ❤️
Strange thing because I wasn't a fan, hardly ever watched him fight or listened to him talk, but I really felt sorry when I heard the news, got teary eyed actually. There was something about him, seemed like a truly honest, good person. Take care of yourselves, people.
Some people can fall into a flawed way of thinking where they depend too much on what other people think of them. When you earn adulation from people it can be he highest of highs and when you suffer severe abuse it's the lowest of lows. Many of us know what it feels like.It can be so hard to swallow your pride and accept a lower quality of life.
Sad news. Way too young at 46. But realistically, can we be that surprised? Training hard for a comeback while way out of shape. He ruined his body by blowing up in weight between fights then not staying in shape after his retirement. You can't do that much damage to your body without repercussions.
This content is protected Joe Hutchinson who fought Gatti and Hatton said Gatti felt like a 9st weakling compared to Hatton. That says a lot because Gatti was a very big puncher and a vicious body puncher too This content is protected This content is protected
Devastated about this, RIP Ricky, thanks for giving me some of my earliest and most memorable boxing memories. Fly high champ.
Man, the Malignaggi fight, the Jose Luis Castillo fight, the kostya tszyu fight... All bangers. Same with Mayweather bout... Ricky was the man of his own boxing style, dirty boxing (that leaping in corkscrew jab which snapped the opponents head back while jumping in to close distance) combined with out of this world work ethic and rhythm. High energy good bloke... Was kinda of a ambassador of how to promote and hope for good mental health. I really miss his fans singing too! There's only one Ricky Hatton Only one hitman Hatton Walking along singing a song Walking in a Hatton wonderland!!!!! I will miss the guy, he kinda made cool stories about dart boards and pool tables too! Rest in peace champ! I will continue to be blessed with the boxing memories you provided. God bless you. I hope your friends and family are doing ok. And also NOONE woulda beat Mayweather on that night of the fight! You fought one heck of a fight!!!
