RICKY HATTON HAS SOLD 50'000 TICKETS, http://www.lep.co.uk/sport/Hatton-sells-50000-tickets.3883713.jp This is truely phemonenomal.
I think the difference is that British fighters are more prepared to fight in an open air arena - hence the sale of 50000 tickets, and previous high selling events at Wembley, and Old Trafford. The British fans are also very loyal to their men, particularly as we have only two 'marquee' names at present, whilst the Americans have several. Also, the Americans are very fickle - one minute a fighter can be the second coming, the next, he sucks ****!
British boxing is booming at this time, and this proves it. With Calzaghe, Haye, Froch and Khan all good ticket sellers also, the sport is in a very healthy state there.:good
