Theres no doubt that he's done now, but going into that fight he was still seen as a potentially dangerous opponent by many - including Ring, and the bookies.

  2. Rickys last 8 fights he has faced boxers who have had a combined 257 fights and at the time of fighting have 16 losses between them. And now is taking on the second p4p no 1 fighter in his career.

  3. That pissed on your bonfire didn't it :D

The guy was only 32 years old for goodness sake, when ppl talk about the Ricky v Castillio fight they go on like he was 57 years old

In boxing years he certainly was. Are you not aware of "who" Castillo is? And HOW long he`s been fighting? As well as the mileage on this guys clock? I mean seriously are you going to use his age as some weak excuse?

Hell yeah he was a career lightweight. But the Hatton jocks talk it up. The same way they did with an inactive Lazcano. Its fine when Ricky cant move 7lbs north. But when a guy like Castillo who has also fought at 47 despite being a career lightweight and shot all of a sudden becomes a world beater. Seriously its a pathetic argument.

  9. Your really too much of a hater to have a decent debate about this subject, Name me one Hatton fan that talked up the Lazcano fight than being anything other than a come back fight.

And liked I said Rickys last 8 fights have had 257 fights between them and 16 combined losses, not to bad for a scared bum :patsch

Size and reach wise Hatton is at tops a LWW that could have begun at LW if he had a healither lifestyle.... but saying that he still won a belt against a credible opponent.

  10. Yes his WBU reign was'nt the highlight of his career but you have to remember he wasnt exactly a big name back then.

And if he stayed on with FW fighting bums, then yes he deserves your critisism, but since Vacating the WBU he has fought

Tyszu, Urango, Maussa, Castillo, Callazo (WW), Mayweather, Lazcano, and soon Manny.... Thats pretty good imo

I thought N'Goudjo beat him comfortably in the fight before and I also said he was shot after seeing it. Corrales and Castillo ruined eachother

  13. :rofl

I stopped reading after "I rate him above Euro level"

to be fair, witter was offered the cotto fight and didn't take it.

if calzaghe is noit in your top 10, who is. in my opinion its not who you didnt face, or how many bums you fight, its the solid big name that he did fight, and calzaghe has quite a few of them.

i think people seem to forget that mitchell and brewr were coming of dodgy losses in title fights and omar sheika was built up to be huge!

So what about the shot at Corley (when he was WBO champ and good) that Witter never took? Was he not given the opportunity for that one either? I don't know the reasons why Hatton-Corley didn't come off, but he has an excuse, he took on the real champ rather than a beltholder. Witter has no such excuse, he took on a shot to **** Corley after three losses in five bouts. If you "don't get the opportunity from your promoter then start demanding it or leave when your contract's up. As Hatton did. My point it what's good for the goose is good for the gander, if you're going to have a go at Hatton (I'm not necessarily referring to you here) for his promoter seeking out lower risk opponents on the way up, you have to do the same for him with the 14 straight cadavers.

As for Castillo, he was ring #8 p4p at the time. He was #1 contender for Ring as was Malignaggi. Looks like the top contenders to me. And I'd love to know who all these far better fighters Witter has fought are? Kotelnik I will give you and Judah too (he lost). Who else? Bradley maybe but he's unproven. Shot to **** Harris and Corley?

It seems the whole problem with Hatton on these boards is he gets well paid. Because of this all the big fights he's taken don;t count? Maybe he should have been born with a boring ass fighting style and the charisma of a wet lettuce like Witter and then he'd have got some respect?
