Ward and Dirrell are nothing to write home about. Dirrell is a ****ing runner, he rides the bike like a super middle version of Snoozman.
Not sure about that, but I know Witter turned him down when they were proposed to meet in an eliminator with the winner getting the fight with Hatton. Hence, Magee got it instead. Pretty strange behaviour for a fight you claim to have always dreamed about.
What eliminator? Eliminator for what?!?!?!?! Hatton held the WBU at the time. Witter i dont think even held of the domestic titles at the time (possibly Lonsdale cant remember). But there was certainly NO eliminator. FW chose Magee because that was the easier option. Witter was calling out Hatton for a near on a decade and since the time he fought Judah in fact. It was all over Boxing News, the internet, as well as Witter hijacking Hattons interviews after fights.
I don't know and I don;t really care. It's not a big enough issue for me to be bothered about it when you consider the fights he has taken. By contrast, Hatton would have been by far the best opponent and biggest payday of Witter's career. It was up to him to really make the effort to get the fight and I question how much he really did. Okay so we had all the "I'll fight for free" publicity stunts, but when it came to putting it in writing and taking the big fights to make himself a must see challenger, Witter was found lacking for me. A bit like the Calzaghe-Froch situation.
Yeah Stephen Smith, Kirvalopov or whatever his name was. And some yank club fighter who looked like Davey Crockett. Seriously dude cut this crap out
witter never fought magee to prove that little theory though did he rantings. :-( or thaxton (admittedly a stablemate). or rowland.
OK maybe an eliminator is the wrong word as it wouldn't have been an official one, but that was the offer on the table. Witter didn't take it up either way, hence Magee got the shot instead.
Took him five years to do it though. Ndou is the only good opponent (apart from Judah) that Witter has ever fought voluntarily, all the rest (Kotelnik, Harris, Bradley) were mandatories or title shots.
krivolapov was better than virtually all those guys witter beat. in that period when he went 15-0 (15 ko's).

bergman. that chinny south african who played the ratings game. :yep blasted out by tszyu and judah oh yeah and khaliq. something witter couldn't do.
I don't know do I, I wasn't party to the negotiations, it was between their camps. Magee maybe a little too dangerous. No Lucky Sambo or Laatakwei Hammond after all was he?
