Hatton has said in the past that he overtrained for the Pac fight. He was doing well in sparring, but as time went on he said he was getting beat up and dropped in sparring. If I remember right, Erislandy Lara dropped him in sparring.

He’s an awful interviewer, keeps interrupting etc. We’ve all heard about Hatton being dropped a couple of weeks out by Lara and him crying on the ring apron afterwards before though.

He lost the fight the moment Pac beat Oscar 6 months earlier and when the fight was signed. He had no chance.

Now you say it I do remember now.
I do think he had a chance though, went out stupid all guns blazing unlike his good performance against Paulie. Wasn’t there a bust up with Mayweather and he just ignored his advice and tried to walk though Pac. Silly. Not as silly as going with him in the first place though .

That’s about the long and short of it. Hatton also claims that Mayweather didn’t want to do southpaw pads from day one. So instead they did orthodox pads for a fight against one of the greatest left handers of all time. If that was the case I would have binned him immediately.

Agree that the whole Snr choice was weird. Not trustworthy, but he was never beating Pacquiao regardless.

Good for him,had a very good career, made money and moved the needle.

Personaly I dont see it,stylewise I never liked him, that jab and grab style was ugly to me and not the warrior style it was presented.
Also he made a career out of beating past prime fighters-Tszyu being the best win and name and going down to the likes of Castillo,Lazcano,Tackie,Phillips,Pendleton, all these guys had seen better days.
    Good matchmaking.
Had some of the best footspeed I have ever seen though, would be near you in seconds.
