you would think after such an ordinary 1st rnd for hatton he would be thinking of protecting himself a little bit but it was like he was programmed to just attack from the opening bell and don't let up until he was the winner or loser. i really thought he was a much smarter fighter than that and although i was going for pacquiao i was bitterly dissapointed in hattons effort. he showed no respect whatsoever for pacquiao's skill level and was made to look like a bit of a dill to be honest. if hatton continues to fight i hope he learns from this fight. i believe hatton has been one of the best things for world boxing and would like to see him fight just a few more times before he hangs up the gloves.
i don't know how at such a high level of professional competition they could underestimate someone of such skill and experience of pacquiao. its as if they took no notice of who the opponent hatton was fighting and just concentrated on hattons preferred fighting plan so to speak.
Like most everybody, they thought that Hatton is stronger than Pacquiao by virtue of him being the man at 140 for some time now. Hatton's style is to hit and grab (and hit some more while grabbing) but Pacman was able to solve it in no time. Haven't you noticed that prior to the fight, every article favoring Hatton is relying on the assumption that Hatton is the stronger guy and that he can bully Pacquiao. Unfortunately, it didn't go that way. Btw, that 1st round is anything but ordinary for Hatton. :rasta
he was lucky to be concious at the end of rnd1. it never occurred to him that if he fought exactly the same way he was going to get smashed again?
thats exactly what I thought when I saw this fight that what must happen when someone is trying to immitate the Muhamad Ali style of : "if he keps hitting me, he is going to get tired" :yep
