In early 2010 it was muted that Hatton coming off a loss to Pacquiao was considering a fight against recently crowned WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan.I feel at that particular time Khan would have won,what say you?
I agree Noel. Hatton was done by 2010, whilst Khan's fights against Paulie and Maidana that year were arguably the best ever versions of him.
It was always at the back of British fight fans minds, that Hatton and Khan might cross swords some day. It was also generally thought that Hatton woudl brutalize him. Obviously when Hatton came off the rails, the descent was rapid.
Given the selected time frame I’d probably have to favor Khan. But regardless I would cheer for Hatton hoping for the best. I was never a fan of Amir Khan
By the way, there was a window where Ricky Hatton looked very impressive. He beat three belt holders in two separate weight classes on the spin. He deserved his Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year award.
