One for our British members I guess and a break from the Heavyweights. I'm hoping that @mcvey and @Mike Cannon can help with this. Many people feel that Hatton's best weight was Light Welter and although Charnley never struggled to make Lightweight, lack of willing opponents often forced him to fight world class Welters. Ten Stone would be ideal for them both. Both elite level men. Both shuddering hitters. What are your thoughts everyone ?
Hi Buddy. Sorry for late reply, been on Grandkids duty for a while, interesting match up, especially if the fight is at 140, that would save Charnley struggling with the LW poundage, as to them both being " shuddering " hitters, not sure that applies to Hatton, of course he hit hard in particular to the body, but I do think it would sum up Charnley's punches, add to this that he was a immensely strong LW it doesn't bode well for Hatton that Dave would be fighting at 140, as to the outcome, I would be inclined to lean towards a Charnley victory, his strength aligned with his southpaw stance and a very good chin make him the fav in my eyes, but would be very interested on one of our most esteemed posters @mcvey thoughts on the outcome. stay safe Loaded, chat soon.
This would be a cracker. Always loved Charnley, thought he was so unlucky in Brown rematch. Tough, strong southpaw puncher who could be outboxed but not by Hatton. Would be a war in the trenches with Charnley slowly busting up Ricky and stopping him late.
