Witter via K.O in 8. Hatton has always walked onto punches and Witter is a sharp shooter, and real underrated banger.

Hatton would walk onto one of Witter's unseen straights and go down. There's a reason he avoided him and I'm a Hatton fan adn a Witter-hater.

Why stop there? You may as well add Castillo, Urango, Magee, Tommy Peacock and whoever he faced in his pro debut. Some posters you just can't take seriously.

    How's he an underrated banger?

    He's overrated if anything.

And since when did Witter throw straight punches?

see i think the world boxing public will look at the 2 carears and say witter was a overrated fighter, when he steped up to the world competion, like a previous poster said, hes ko's just dissapeared, and hatton walked through tszyu's deadly right hand shots, i'm sure witter gives him no problems.....i think witter will always have a chip on his shoulder for being second fiddle to hatton, but its a fact junior.

Look mate, you seem to have got me mixed up with a hater. Witter does indeed throw straight punches, pretty well, but as man with Hatton in his avatar you clearly can't agree with anyone who disagrees that Hatton is unbeatable.

Have you looked at my avatar properly?

    Go on, have a look.

Now do you see? It's not a compliment towards Ricky....

Witter's like Hatton, they're both hookers. Ingle fighters struggle with the art of straight punching.

He's not overrated as a puncher at all, most think he's feather fisted!

I always thought prime Hatton would have had too much for Witter prime for prime (now i think witter would win):

Hatton could take a punch: - Witter can bang a bit but only against B level fighters and altho he could rock Hatton and confuse him by fighting as a lefty i think Hatton's own punch power would cause Witter to back pedal.

Hattons foot speed would let him close the gap and Junior isnt a brilliant inside fighter he likes to set himself and throw big power hooks and uppercuts from odd angles

Witters work rate has only ever been so so - see the N'dou fight great win for Witter but he was struggling in the 2nd half of the fight even against a faded Corely Witter was content to pose rather than work.

Im sorry we never saw the fight happen and i wish Junior had made more of a name for himself in the Judah fight because he would have been an interesting fighter to watch at world level. Hatton has a question mark over him about the reasons he never fought Witter, but Junior has more - How good was he really? Was his power world class? Would his style hold up against the elite? How good was his chin? (Bradley is no banger)

I would tend to agree that Witter is overrated as a puncher going solely off what I've heard on this board. There are a large number of lemmings on here who just trot out "14 straight KOs" as a repeated mantra whilst ignoring the fact that, seriously, none of the fighters in question were in the world top 50. It's easy to bully fighters who don't have anything to offer in return.

I think when he stepped up to close to world level, we saw that his power was not all that. The Harris KO aside, his fights with Ndou, Kotelnik, a very dimished Corley, Bradley, Judah and even Lynes and Bergman if you want to count them all went the distance. IMHO a fighter who can't KO those guys stands next to no chance of KOing Hatton at his peak if Tszyu couldn't do it. I don't think Hatton would KO him either as Witter is defensively crafty and Hatton is a heavy handed fighter rather than a drop-em-cold KO artist, however, I could see him using the same tactics he used against Tszyu and Bradley used against Witter, suffocating him on workrate and working him over to a decision. Witter would not get the room to get his "sharpshots" off.

Wtter hurt N'dou and dropped him twice, who else had done that? did Cotto? Mitchell? Cintron?

Witter had an easy time with Morua and stopped him, the same Morua who beat Maussa....that's right, the Colombian freak Hatton won 'one of me world titles against' and the huggers on here celebrate as a big world title win at 140 for Wicky :lol:
