wasnt lovemore n'dou put down by malianaggi?? Ran on to a nicely timed straight right hand. Same as he did against Witter who put him down with fast counters with N'dou charging in head first. We all know how little power Paulie has Witter cought him nicely thats about it.

Witter was bouncing N'dou around the ring early on, I'm sure he hurt his hand then and laboured to a points win.

Bradley doesn't use his face to block punches though.

Overall I'd say Hatton is at a higher level than Witter, but I always thought that Witter had the style to KO him.

Didn't vote, can't make my mind up.
This is the problem. That 14 KO stretch was against a string of guys who could noto do anything more than pull their pants up. I honestly don't think any of those fighters would have made the world top 50. When he finally took a step up in class after about 5 years, the KOs mysteriously dried up, with 4 straight distance fights against Ndou, Kotelnik, Lynes and Corley. IMHO Witter's power is no more than decent at world level. He is an excellent bully of fighters who are clearly out of their depth. However, it was the step up in class which has been responsible for his difficulties over the past 4 years.

If they fought, Hatton bullies him around the ring to a 116-112 decision as Jeff says. Witter would probably take some rounds as Magee did with his sharp work and I do factor in that Hatton has had some problems with awkward southpaws. However, I don't think Witter's workrate is consistant enough to match the Hatton of that period. His crafty defence would take it the distance, but Hatton would be able to work him over with heavy body shots.

As regards holding them in lower esteem because they never faced each other, the whole episode will rate no more than a foot note in Hatton's history. He has the PPV megafights with Mayweather and Pac, the wins over p4p top 10 fighters like Tszyu and Castillo, the successful trips to America versus other good title holders like Malignaggi, Collazo and Urango to look back on. By contrast, Witter will be held in lower esteem because Hatton would have been the best name on his record by an absolute mile.
Honestly, this is the best most accurate post i think i have seen since i arrived on ESB when concerning Junior "Shitter" Witter:good

Oh i voted Hatton by ko.

I dont think he would knockout Witter but i think once Hatton started to bully Witter, Witter would revert back to the dull, negative fighter he was before he started his great mythical ko of African roadsweepers, and Hatton may be able to force a stoppage late on.

The myth of Witter being the correct style to beat Hatton has been perpeptuated by the likes of Betty and Scurlantings who seriously believe Witter to be Mayweather with the punching power of a seriously pissed off incredible Hulk.

Even if Hatton didnt stop him he would chase Witter out of the ring for the full 12.

I feel Witter would take it on points. Soon as Ricky gets used to one stance of witter he could just switch and Hatton doesn't adjust well.

Hatton could easily win a UD as well i feel as Witter was never one to be the most active

Hatton for all his talk never fancied the job. The reason for that was the huge risk involved, that tells you a lot about how HE thought this fight might play out.

I voted for Hatton to stop Witter.

Ricky could take a lot of big shots when he was younger and 'Witter The Hitter' was effective but not devastating when he punched at world level.

Hatton only ever got found out against the very best in the world. Junior never engaged against Judah when he got his big chance, Ricky would always give it a good go, much to his detriment towards the end.

Losses to Pacquiao and Mayweather damage your CV less than losses to Bradley and Judah.

That said Hatton would bring workrate and a good degree of power. Something Bradley and a younger Judah also had and I see Hatton stalking and brawling his way to a late stoppage.

It would be competetive though. This fight really should have happened.
