Paulie could not break a egg

Witters KO of Vivian Harris showed he could crack Hattons chin.

    In what way?

Hatton was durable and i think now his life style or the way he fights has finally caught up with him.

If Hatton can walk through Tszyu's best right hands then i think he could take Witters 3 shots per round output.

And why would you compare Harris's durability with Hattons?

Harris has never been known to be durable.

You think that Hatton gives a **** about what a few posters on internet forums want when he's choosing his next fight?? I read a lot of boxing history and Hatton will be remembered as a fighter who beat Zoo, made a couple of defences but got KO'd by Mayweather and Pac. The Witter (non) fight won't get a mention.

Anytime before Tszyu would have been logical, in place of the has been or never beens that he was racking up.

There were a few other intermittent opportunities Post-Tszyu also.

I just can't buy all these differing excuses at different times, some of which are questionable to say the least. And the fact Witter, who to most always looked the pick of the domestic bunch alongside Hatton was skipped over, and eventually became one of the best 140lbers in the world. I just don't know how that happened, and how they never fought...its bizarre

It sticks in the throat how it all happened. And jeez...when a man gotta use so many different excuses credibility starts to go down the toilet.

thats a BIG stretch....Malinaggi won fights by piling up points and having a decent chin. Until he gets into real top class he hasn't needed much of a punch.

Its not just posters on internet forums

I think people all in North of England - will always wonder and ask why?

    They know Hatton **** out.

And Hatton might be more senstive to internet forums than you think.

He crusies the forums and looks at what people are saying - so he must care on some level.

But in day to day life - no I guess he dont give a **** - he made his money - and lives in luxury - like alot of ****s do.

But honour and glory - will be dimisnshed in his soul - because he ducked someone - and he knows when he looks in the mirror he did.

I'd forget the intermittent opportunities after Zoo, it was never going to happen. Hatton didn't want the fight and the American Tv companies def. didn't want the fight. After Zoo it was dead in the water.

Oh, I don't know, Herol Graham still gets props (and quite right too) despite being ducked by the big names when he was at his peak...and that was twenty odd years ago.

It doesn't seem to have affected the fighters who avoided him though, granted.

Good points, Witter could well have done more with better management and more TV friendly style but, as you say, you don't see Hagler and Sibson getting too much **** for for not fighting Graham these days either......;)

I think Sibson-Graham is particulary telling on how this Hatton/ Witter issue will all be remembered in 20-30 years.

I have seen Hatton v Witter dozens of times in my thoughts and in all fairness it isn`t an easy fight to call.

I dont think you can compare them on resumes or who attracted the most fans as it is common knowledge that even when he was at his very best Witter had problems attracting flies to **** while Hatton could get thousands turn out just to hear him tell a joke.

All that aside if they had got it together when in their prime I would have to favour Junior by tko as I think he had the tools to do a number on Hatton and more importantly he had the desire and the will...........Would have been a cracking fight though and I am sure Ricky would have had his moments.

:huhI thought he was widely regarded as the #2 @ 140 for quite some time, and one of the so called elite didn't have the nuts to face him.

I think Hatton's style matches up well, but I also think Witter got into his head and that Ricky wouldn't be able to implement his style that well, even though he did it against 'superior' fighters.

I also find it very funny that people discredit Maussa when he sparked Harris before Witter did!
