Hatton points for me, I just dont think Witter could hadle a prime Hatton, he was a beast in his prime, unfortunatly those years were wasted under Frank Warren.

Nearly 4000 posts and you come out with that. You should be ashamed. Witter's average at best.

    Bradley
    Harris
    Corley
    N'Dou
    Lynes
    Kotelnik
    Judah

His 7 best opponents. Only stopped one.

I think his punch at the highest level has to be questioned.

If junior Witter is so good betty, why isnt he the one fighting top p4p fighters and a big name stateside? Hatton made his own career, Junior embarrasingley tried to hop on for the ride, simple as that.

And the only guy he stopped out of the 7, was stopped quicker by a guy who the Witter fans slate Hatton for fighting, i.e. Carlos Maussa.

The Witter fans are deluded because the man has never beaten a grade A fighter.

I'd have to say Hatton pts. He'd have great trouble stopping a boxer who runs so well.

Like Witter Hatton has never beaten a grade A opponent.Hatton has only ever faced 2 prime grade A fighters and he was outclassed and knocked ouy badly by both of them.

As for your first point going on your theory George Foreman should have knocked out Ali seeing as Ali struggled and lost to Frazier and Norton while Foreman brutally knocked them both out.

That wasnt my point at all.

Witter has never faced a fighter of true world class calibre, Hatton even if he lost to two greats also beat Tszyu and JLC, granted they where past their respective primes but Tszyu had just beaten the number 2 in the division and he disposed of JLC like a fighter should do to a declining fighter.

Witters best win was against a decent fighter in Harris and after that his defeat of Corley which when put into perspective wasnt at all good as Corley was ancient and he lost something like 3 out of 4 fights after the Witter fight.

But as for Witter v Hatton:-

Hatton has all the aces to beat Witter, speed, stamina, physical strength, and workrate, not to mention boxing ability over a very overated operator in Witter.

Im not saying Hatton is the next Duran, but on the face of it all he is a few levels in comp, achievement and overall status than Junior Witter.

    this thread is ridiculous.

Witter's only half decent win came against DeMarcus Corley, whose career nosedived since getting beaten up by Cotto (before Witter).

Witter got danced around by some American kid who came to Nottingham and embarrassed him.

The 'prime' Hatton who fought Tszyu would have tore him apart in three rounds. Seriously, what would Witter have done to Hatton that Kotsya couldn't/didn't??

Witter's big mouth and self importance have turned a distorted match up into some sort of debate which will last the ages. Would Tyson have beat Ali? Would Witter have beat Hatton?? It's a joke - Witter was never, and will never be in Hatton's league!!

Let's be honest - I don't like either fighter, but Hatton stops him late. Witter may take the early rounds, but his stamina will very, very definitely give out against Hatton's inside game. Witter's stamina is very questionable and he'd never keep Hatton off him as he can't fight well inside.

    christ almighty.

what style is that then - the style of the best boxer since Leonard, or the most brutal and dangerous puncher since Tyson?

Seriously, I've never considered Witter as a challenger to Floyd and Pac in those respects.
