He was an amazing athlete in the same vein as R.Jones, superior speed, that`s the only edge he had over Duran, his foot speed and active guard were too much in the no mas fight, he also had power like Jones which saved him from a better technical boxer like Hearns who wa out boxing him before being caught by a great shot, Ray could turn a fight around with one shot even against a more skilled fighter.

Leonard. Hearns, Barkley & Hagler would beat the **** outta Mayweather. Leonard is the only one I'd have above Mayweather P4P though.

Floyd isn't the best at anything. Ever. People who don't know why Floyd was great are the people who call him tbe

    Cuevas Marcel Leonard Hagler Barkley
De Jesus Palomino all beat Floyd. Buchanan might beat him too.
Duran beat them all or was competitive, not to mention Benitez and Hearns who Duran at least had the balls to face at their very best.
Floyd would be just another fighter in the 70s.
The refs wouldnt give him special treatment and Leonard would still hog the limelight. He wouldn't be able to pick and choose and manufacture his place in boxing history like he was able to do in his own watered down era.
He'd do very well to win a belt at lightweight, he wouldn't go anywhere near welterweight or above.
