Alexander by one sided, embarrassing stoppage. In fact, I'd take pretty much any live, non-glass jawed, non-featherfisted opponent to win. Hatton was hurt by pretty much every punch he took against Pacquiao, has zero defence/head movement..... plus another four/five stone weight fluctuation and year long layoff. Ricky has always looked garbage against southpaws, eating hooks all night long.
The Hatton of today i think would probably be stopped late or lose a UD. Alexander is too quick and too slick for todays version of Hatton. Alexander is the goods. Now finally with his classy defeat of Urango, we can stop saying Witter had an off night. Alexander would beat any version of Witter imo. Alexander and Bradley are the two best fighters at 140.....NOT Khan:yep
Alexander stops Hatton within 5 rounds. He likes to see his way into things and once he feels the job out Hatton would be on borrowed time. Not into this Hatton lost to the best two p4p guys so that means he's still got a good chin and ability at top level. He been showing signs of wear and tear Pre Floyd and Pac.
I think a prime Ricky Hatton would have trouble with a slick, fast southpaw like Alexander, but his punch resistance and strength might have just seen him through to a close decision. Today's version of Ricky wouldn't last 3 rounds IMO, plus i doubt he could safely make 140 anymore.
How can you guys say these things against Ricky. He can beat anyone in the world, he is truly world class and a p4p contender. He is the bestest fighter Europe has ever produced.
I wouldn't like to see todays Ricky in with Devon the bloke takes no prisoners Ricky would get hurt. Prime Ricky would be a heck of a fight but he always had trouble with portsiders.....:think BTW which numpty advised Hatton to fight the best lefty in the world ?
