way to discredit a completely dominant performance.

Hatton was outclassed in all aspects of the fight. It is comical how this keeps coming up. In what round did it appear that Hatton was even getting the better of Floyd on the inside? Floyd won the fight on all fronts and knocked Hatton out, taking his undefeated record with him.

So it wasnt strange flod could fight away on the inside, but as soon as ricky got stuck in, the ref broke them up ?
Is flod the better fighter ? yes he is, but the ref done ricky NO favours that night.

No chance, Floyd was dominating and overpowering him on the inside anyways.

floyd still would have won, but it would have been closer (5-6 rounds advantage to floyd). he wouldn't have ko'd hatton.

Bull****, watch round 8 again, when floyd turned up the heat Hatton took a beating, always would have done

Are you saying that Mayweather had an advantage because Cortez enforced the rules? :huh

It might have changed things but pretty sure Floyd would have found a way regardless.

the main point being if cortez wasn't referee, would that have even happened. this is a bit silly to argue over due to it being entirely hypothetical, i just gave my opinion. though ricky was in against a much more skilled fighter, mayweather wouldn't have ko'd him.

People would have more of a point in complaining about Cortez if Hatton actually got the better of it on the inside.

However, when they fought on the inside and in the clinches, Mayweather beat him there too.

It's pretty laughable that people are still complaining about this.

Do people actually pay attention closely to see what was going on up close? Hatton was receiving much more on the inside than giving.

Would'nt matter. Floyd is hattons superior, totally different class of fighter. He was beating him in close, and from range. Ray Hatton could've been the 3rd man in, and Ricky still would have gotten sparked.
