Spot on about the point being taken away, that was bull****, and Cortez was maybe too quick to jump in but fighting on the inside is one thing, wrestling is another. Grabbing the back of your opponents head and then hitting him is not boxing. That's what he did in the Kostya fight, blatantly, and the ref didn't do **** about it. That was ****ed up. Hatton fans can't expect the ref to allow those type of tactics.

Either way, Hatton would have still lost, possibly could have made it more competetive, but it's also possible he would've got knocked out even sooner.

Hatton was doing very well early, but Cortez did balls the fight up for him to be honest. Once Hatton started getting frustrated because the ref wasn't allowing him to do what he wanted, he basically fought into Floyd's hands. Not saying he would have won, because to be honest I think Floyd would still have took the fight but it would have been much much closer. Hatton is very underrated.

 

+1 and I mean it aint like floyd won a decision he KO'd Ricky, I guess he would of made it past the 2nd round with pacman to right

No. When Hatton started getting rough on the inside Floyd did it right back. He had an answer for everything Ricky tried.

Its funny...on here Floyd gets **** b/c Hatton "wasnt allowed to fight his fight" and then he gets **** for beating Hatton at his own game at moments. It was a master class.

 

Either way Floyd would've pulled out a W so the ref not allowing Hatton to do his tactics would have no effect on the outcome.

 

Or maybe Cortez rewatched the tape, saw Ricky feigning a low blow, which made Cortez look the fool and saw him getting away with blatant infringements like hitting and holding

 

Are you Brits still going over that fight? Jesus Christ, Ricky had his ass handed to him, the fight could have had Joe Cortez, Jay Nady, or R2-D2 referee the fight and the outcome would have been just about the same.
