I've got my money on Hatton. Diaz would try to pressure a pressure fighter that punches much stronger with a better skill set. I bet the house on Ricky
The difference to me is that Hatton punches MUCH stronger, with the same intensity and workrate. Diaz has nowhere near Hattons power from what I have seen.
Hattons jab is probably his most effective weapon to back fighters up and get on the inside. Watch him in the Tzsyu fight, or plent of other early in his career.
Hatton's jab whe he uses it is good, its a lot more of a straight left but its quite strong, not as good but with the same intensity of someone like DM. Doesnt use it all that much anymore, seems more content to just slip his way inside now. MSTR, I really really enjoy watching the Baby Bull duke it out, he is one of my favourite fighters to watch right now, whereas Hatton is not. Diaz punches, Hatton hugs. But that doesnt mean Hatton isnt more effective. Ricky owns 140 if you ask me, he is a ****ing beast there. I just see Ricky smothering Diaz's workrate and being unperturbed by Juan's light combos. Ricky doesnt just punch the fight out of you, he wrestles it out of you. And Im not really sold on Diaz's chin and how he reacts to being hurt. He seems to want to punch his way out of trouble, get a guy off him with offence, which is could cost him one day. Almost like Cotto does it but he doesnt have the power for it to work all the time if you ask me. Id prefer for Diaz to take a lot of other fights first, I enjoy wathcing him I dont want to see him getting into a boring wrestle match with Hatton.
Diaz, who debuted at 140 lbs, is making a lot of noise, calling out the former 108 lbr Manny Pacquiao. But I bet if you talk to him about Hatton, you could hear a rat pee on cotton.
Fair enough. From what I saw againt Collazo, I think that a guy like Diaz who keeps his guard high and very tight can prevent Hattons wrestling tactics to a degree, which is a big part of the reason that I picked him. Still, a dangerous fight, that Hatton could make very ugly as you said. I would much prefer to see him fight Pac, casa or Katsidis first.
Hatton is a swarmer and a volume guy, not a power puncher at all. Diaz in recent times has been putting more and more behind his punches, and has under rated power IMO, although is a volume guy also. I would rate their power as equal at this point, once Diaz had the advantage of the extra weight also.
no castillo at 135 would beat diaz... diaz doest have the power to beat castiollo castillo wlak throught his punches and i see him stopping diaz in 9. as for Hatton hatton is bigger , stronger , just as tenacious and is the better pressure fighter . he takes diaz out in 6. care to tell me why diaz never called out Corrales and waited for Casillo to leave and wants no part of CASA who holds the real title???
good to know your going against the grain but please explain how jaun could possiblly beat a bigger better more powerful version of him self plus hatton is a finisher and juan aint hatton make juan cry in the ring he's just the better fighter... juan has a win over frietas thats about it JUlio diaz wasn't **** and when juan fought frietas frieats had no heart left. simple as that
Because he was a very young fighter who was still maturing as a pro. He has made noticable improvement in his past few fights. I can't believe you are comparing an OLD OLD Castillo that Hatton beat to a prime Castillo at 135. It has absolutely no relevance.
your right there i dnt know why he's callin g out a samller amn when he aint even the champ in his own divison. he should fight casa but he's scarred
im not comparring i just think jaun aint got no power. Castillo beats him hatton beats him too and not cuz hatton beat a washed up castillo but because they are better pressure fighters with more power and no way does Diaz have the same amt of power as HAtton. sorry but you still havent said how diaz can possibly beat a fighter that does almost every thing better then him and that has more power .
