Ken outclasses a brave Hatton. Too much overall skill would see him to a clear points verdict.

They could fight ten times and Buchanan would win ten times Buchanan was just that two levels above hatton

I don't think this is as one sided as people are making out.
Buchanan was a master boxer, a great technician but although he had respectable power I don't think he'd have enough to discourage Ricky, who would set a pace and be coming onto him all night.
Now I know Hatton isn't Duran but Buchanan never looked comfortable in their fight having to fight at a high intensity for virtually every second of every round and in all fairness to Hatton that was his forte.
I see a hard fought fight with Buchanan eking out a fairly close UD and having a few bruises and sore ribs to show for it along the way.

Kens punching power is actually very underrated. The best fighters he fought all had iron chins. Hatton on The other hand is a bit chinny and would certainly feel Kens shots. Hattons pressure is very predictable, his combo's are extremely poor for elite level. He throws one or two punches then hugs. Hatton is far too one dimensional and would recieve a complete schooling from Ken and possibly a late stoppage. Ken was nails there's no way Hatton hurts him

I don't really disagree with all of what you say, I just think Hatton's persistence and the fact he could make it a very messy fight, could just knock Buchanan out of his stride a bit and make it closer than what we think.
I said Ken had respectable power but I don't think he has enough to stop Hatton coming on although he'd score enough to get the decision.

Fair enough but Ken was a brilliant counter puncher and ring general. Ricky would eat a lot of counters on the way in. Ken would more than likely bust Ricky up.

Ken was a big lightweight. He didn't have a huge punch but he was physically very strong and had immense stamina and toughness. I doubt Ricky's size would bother Ken Much.

Unfortunately Ken has nothing to deter Hatton. He would ONLY be able to out box him. I see it panning out like the Duran fight, with Hatton just bulling Buchanan to the ropes and lashing away to the body.

Whichever poster claimed KB was strong, is simply wrong. Particularly in relation to Hatton. Obviously I am talking about the pre Tzsyu Hatton. not what was left of him after the shots he took from Kostya.

KB was a strong lightweight and that's very much a common opinion of him. Sure he got bullied by Duran but Duran was a freak of nature. A guy who went on to bully middleweights.
Sure Hatton would be the bigger man vs Ken but Hatton is very one dimensional and much slower of Hand and foot than Duran was vs Ken . There is no way he's pinning Ken to the ropes like he did Kostya. Ken has fantastic jab, counters and lateral movement and could Slug it out under pressure. Ken beats Hatton whatever way he wants to. I honestly think he could out Slug Hatton. In reality though he would more than likely mix it up and win a wide UD with Hatton sporting a pizza face at the end of the fight.

Ken had superb countering ability. He would catch Hatton coming in all night. Especially with the counter left hook like the one that he knocked Duran off Balance with. That shot was not to dissimilar to the counter Floyd face planted Hatton into the corner post with.
