Ricky Hatton vs. Miguel Cotto

    I just saw a thread where Ricky Hatton was pitted against Juan Diaz and another thread where Juan Diaz was pitted against Miguel Cotto. In both threads, JD was the clear underdog. Then why not pit the 2 favorites to win against Juan Diaz.

    Who will win, Ricky Hatton or Miguel Cotto at a catch weight of 143 lbs?

    I would have picked Hatton over the 140lbs version of Cotto who back then looked to be a hype job in my opinion. But since he's moved to welter he has looked very good, making the weight was clearly effecting his performances and I believe as long as losing those extra 4lbs don't effect him, Cotto wins.

    Cotto would be too big and powerful for Hatton.

    Hatton is better suited against Mayweather than Cotto at 147

    Are you trying to imply here that Hatton actually has a better chance of success against Mayweather than against Cotto?

    Ricky Hatton is not a WW. Cotto clearly is. That is the wrong fight for Ricky. He would be murdered, stopped in 7 or 8.

    Brighton Bomber has a point about the fight at 140 though, especially as Cotto was mostly struggling with the weight.

    At 143 it would be a war & Im adamant it would also the best fight around at the moment.....
    A real old style tear up & this coupled with arguably the two best sets of fans in world boxing today would give fans everywhere something to shout about.............Who knows if Ricky causes the upset & MC does his buisness it could well happen.

    @ 143 this would be a great fight! Pick'em fight at that weight.
    @ 147 cotto has the advantage.

    Ah, didnt notice that.

    Gonna have to consider carefully about that... though Id probably favour Cotto at anything above 140
