Would be a good clash of styles actually - I think Bradley would UD Paulie if the fight took place this weekend. He simply doesn't have the power to back people up.

He is only known for going out on his shield against Cotto - he won a paper IBF title (which belonged to Hatton in truth all along since '05) and (IMO) lost both of his defences against guys nowhere near as good as Hatton.

Hatton by ko in mid rounds. His pressure and aggression will be just too much for paulie

I've said before - Ricky Hatton is READY for the taking, and Malignaggi has the skills to do it. I think he will outspeed Hatton to win a clear UD

Im picking Paulie to pull of an upset.

Hatton has look good in one of the last 5 or 6 fights, and that was against a oldish lightweight. He doesnt like fighting slick movers and in Malignaggi is fighting a man who is in the fight of his life. Plus he's changed his trainer, which is never a guarenteed to go well.

He is 30, had a lot of fights and hasnt lived healthy, all add up to a shortish career, I think Malignaggi is catching him at the right time.

Ok PM cant punch, but in theory you should only need to win 7 rounds to get the win, I think he's good enough to do that.

Paulie can win this and ill prob put a bit of money on him.

Itll be close i reckon by PM on pts for me.

I really don't know what to think about this fight. To be honest, I think that without the massively helpful ref Hatton had against Lazcano, he'd have been taken out...or at least KDed 1-2 times...

Does Hatton have enough speed and stamina to put enough on his punches at the fast pace that Malignaggi will try to impose to hurt Malignaggi and stop him? I'm not sure he can. Even if he can, Malignaggi is tougher than some give him credit for, I think. His fight against N'dou (which he lost) proved that...

...I don't think much of Malignaggi at all, but does Hatton have enough these days? Let's hope so...

...in any case, this fight is a close call for me...I don't think either's the massive favourite. Hope I'm wrong, though.:good

I'm going to sit on the fence on this one.

    Hatton SHOULD win.

People overrate Paulie's slickness. Sure he's slick..but guys like Ndoujo and Ndou were finding him with right hands. His speed also seems to be declining as he's not as fast as I remember him being. Can he hurt Hatton? I don't see how he could. The hook IS the achilles heel for Hatton but I don't think Paulie has a good one.

Also Hatton is very fasty for a JWW. I think Paulie will be very surprised at Hatton's footwork in this fight.

I expect Hatton to get the decision over Paulie. Malignaggi will have his moments but I think we're looking at a 8-4/9-3 sort of decision for Hatton with a KD or two sprinkled in.

I been going back and forth on the outcome of this fight because both of them didn't look good in their previous fights.I think the outcome of the fight is going to determine who wants it more.I believe Paulie is hungry right now because he wants the spot light and know this maybe his last chance. But I just can't see Paulie holding off Hatton for 12 rounds. Hatton just to strong and the body attacks will do great damage to Paulie.Hatton with his Mayweather Sr. on his side will do wonders in the ring.Paulie can still win this fight with his quickness and boxing ability but just don't think it be enough to hold off Hatton for 12 rounds.

Late stoppage 8th round or UD :Hatton

Reading through the thread, particularly Beeston Brawler's posts, I'm starting to think Hatton is the clear favourite...:think

I think he is. That doesn't mean that he'll win of course.

One drawback is the power Malignaggi doesn't have. You're 100% right that Hatton might've been in big trouble if the ref didn't stop the fight over an untied shoelace...however Lazcano has legit power. Malignaggi doesn't and that's his biggest problem.

Maybe I am matching Hatton with an idealised version of Malignaggi...the Malignaggi of the last couple of fights = very beatable. Maybe I'm going off too much by thinking Hatton's on the slide big time...

Can I officially change my pick to Hatton by close decision?

    NO! :D

Btw, as I have stated in other threads, my pick is Malignaggi by decision. I might be in the wrong here, but I think Paulie can pull it off. I can't believe how easily Hatton dominates every poll about his fight with Malignaggi...
