Malignaggi just doesn't have what it takes even if Hatton is really faded/bad on the night. If he was moderately effective at times against Mayweather, do you think he'll have problems with Malignaggi? Lazcano was strong, tough, threw a lot and had a bit of power too. Malignaggi just doesn't have it, in my view. I think you should change your pick again to Hatton by T/KO or wide decision.
Because a lot of us figured Floyd would box cautiously and just take a safe decision. Floyd had Hatton on shaky legs hetting knocked around in round 8 before the KO. He went on the offensive and rocked Hatton repeatedly and honestly it was a miracle Hatton didn't go down in that round. Hatton mounted a small comeback in the next round before eating buckle in round 10. Floyd had enough power to hurt Hatton when he saw the opening and went on the offensive. Floyd doesn't.
the big question on pauks side iswhether or not his movement will be enough to keep hatton off his rhythm. if not i cant see him having the power to throw hatton off
I'm surprised at the poll. Hatton seems to be the heavy favourite on here. I think this will be an ugly boring fight with a close decision possibly split.
Paulies movement isn't anywhere near as good as some people seem to think and if he can't move out of the way and he hasn't got the pop to keep Hatton off him I think he's in for a long night. There are some question marks over Hatton since the Lascano fight but Paulie has look poor and hittable in his lat 2 fights and his best career result is when he kopped a beating from Cotto.
Both fighters havnt looked good in the last 2 fights, but you have to look at the reasons, okay Hatton was fighting the best boxer in the p4p list and got sparked, but what was his excuse for looking ****, almost vunreble against Lazcano, whose only purpose on being there was to make the Hitman look good...? Paulie fought Ngoujou, who is a tough nights work for most guys, rarely do people look good against him against a Ndou he was fighting a guy he had beaten clearly before, I think motivation and his stupid hair cut were reasons why he looked so poor, wouldnt be surprisd if he hurt his hand aswel. Not only do I think PM has a bad style for Hatton, but I think Hattons end in near anyway, PM is catching him at the right time. As for Hatton stopping Malignaggi?! I just dont see it, he took Cottos best and is obviously tough even if he doest hit that hard...
Paulie had a broken jaw against Cotto...and still made it to the 12th Cotto had one of the most devastating assaults in that weight division and couldnt knock him out... you're crazy to think Paulie gets KO'd...N'dou isnt the easiest target to hit either...very awkward fighter...and seeing as how Paulie had him with a boring but sounded decision...im giving it to Hatton... I see this being similar to the Cotto fight seeing as how Paulie tried to establish the jab and Cotto walked right through it cuz of the lack of power behind it...He was able to cut up the ring and continue the pressure on Paulie and won himself a nice UD Same thing but without the broken jaw HATTON BY A CLOSE DECISION!
So Hattons "near the end" for getting stopped by Mayweather and looking average in clearly beating Lascano (rumours, supported by Billy Graham AFTER he'd left Hattons team of a virus before the fight) but Paulie gets a pass because of "motivation", a "stupid hair cut" and "he MIGHT of hurt his hand" when looking garbage?
to be fair Malignaggi has looked good against Ndou before, the fact he didnt a second time is irrelevent in my eyes. Hatton has looked good in 1 out of what? 5, 6 fights? Yes he got the decision over Lazcano clearly, but it was hard work for him, he was walking into shots and was stunned by a couple too, Juan Lazcanos only job was to make Hatton look like the Hitman again, he was an aggressive fighter who Hatton didnt have to go looking for and was a guy who was prob at his peak at the weight class below 140. The Hatton that beat down Tszyu prob beats PM imo, but I dont think todays Ricky Hatton is the same man... Cmon man even without watching his last 2 fights, you can say the end is near for him, he has hit 30 and had a awful lot of fights, add to the fact he lives like Johnny Vegas and has more money than he can count and it all adds up to one thing... the end!
True, he's a 30 year old pressure fighter with maybe only a couple more fights in him but he's lost to Mayweather, beats Lascano easily (yep, he got tagged and wobbled, but this is a 12 fight!!) and he's finished? Forget Maussa, stepping up at short notice to fight a southpaw welter for a belt, beating Urango who is looking like the next IBF champ at 140 and walking though JLC? Pauli also has poor form going into the fight (and nowhere near the resume of Hatton) but his is just a blip while Hatton is in terminal decline?
Just want to sneak this in. HAtton was asked at the Lesnar/Couture fight that if he finds Brock Lesnar in bed with his girlfriend what would he do? Hatton said hed tuck him in. :rofl
Hmmm...from what I remember, he really did use that breather the ref gave him when he was in that corner, with Lazcano coming in for the kill...with fair ref, I think Hatton would have done well to finish on his feet, to be honest with you, GazOC...
