I saw some people picking a prime Gatti to beat Hatton. A prime Gatti isn't ever going to beat a prime Tszyu, got me thinking what people think in a prime Hatton vs Prime Tszyu (considering the 36 year old one put up a pretty damn good fight and barely threw the fabled right hand)?

    Whole lotta primes in there.

even the version of Tszyu that Hatton fought would win on neutral ground.

hey man thats just my opinion. I still give alot of credit to Hatton for beating Tszyu with a hometown advantage or not that is no easy task. But IMO from what i saw in that fight, a better ref and Tszyu beats him.

We need to be reminded that Hattons victory over Tszyu was a bit dirty to say the least...However if were talking primes than it's not much of a comparison.....
Hatton at his best would be crushed and owned by a prime Tszyu...Both Hatton and Tszyu have comparable power however Tszyu is much more superior in ever other department: hand/foot speed, ring intelligence, timing and distance.
The more I think about it the more laughable this comparison is....think about it Hatton got his ass owned against Collazo for christsakes. Made Hatton look pretty shitty....and then given a gift.....and then struggled and hugged his way to victory over Urango:patsch

    Tszyu but not easily.

Hatton is the kind of fighter that Tszyu clearly did not fight well against and Hatton is about the best around at the time who fights like that.

I think Tszyu was still very capable when he fought Hatton but he was struggling to make the weight by all accounts and that had never happened in his career before.

You have a point. If he had the ref for the Floyd fight, it could've ended differently. Hatton could do as he pleased against Tszyu.. it was ridiculous. Nonetheless, it's pure speculation... but I agree with you.

Tszyu on points prime for prime.

true i had never seen Tszyu strugle to make weight..

I think that plus the start time plus the shitty ref who let it turn into a wrestling match worked against Tszyu

Props to Hatton but there was a lot to take into account that night

i'd be inclined to say tszyu ko, but hatton's style seems to be one which would always give tszyu trouble.

A prime Tszyu would beat Ricky Hatton with 60-40 odds. This however should not mean that Hatton is not a good boxer. Hatton is a very good boxer.

Styles make a fight, and Hatton's workrate would have troubled a prime Tszyu. Look at Tszyu vs. Oktay Urkal. Urkal who had never been knocked down, outhustled Tszyu in that fight, but Tszyu's boxing and power would win him the rounds. Urkal and Hatton are similar in this sense.
