Sorry. It’s actually supposed to be "how's your prawn salad". Roy Keen once referred to Manchester United supporters as the "prawn salad brigade". Because they were mostly a bunch of corporate people who weren't really football fans, didn't know jack about football and just liked to support a winner.

So he's implying that you are a Manchester fan and that that is why you don't like Ricky, he's also implying all the rest of that stuff but applied to boxing. It’s what you call a multi-layered jab.

I think he's got it a bit wrong. To my knowledge most United fans and City fans like each other's teams and have bigger rivalries with other clubs. But the joke still works.

Yeah, that joke really works. We all know that the majority of Hatton's fans are diehard lovers of boxing, and that they really appreciate every aspect of the sport. It's not like a good portion of them are just stupid inbred football hooligans who love to jump on a bandwagon. They're true fans! :happy

Or are they true fans because they really connect with his 'one of the lads' marketing image? They'll stand by him through thick and thin because they view it as some sort of exercise in nationalism? Are they the fans you're talking about?

Hey, maybe next time Hatton gets into a decent fight we'll be flooded by even more of these true fans. That'll be great. There's nothing better than a bunch of ignorant ***gots who don't understand **** about boxing ranting and raving about 'their man' and how he's the greatest boxer out there - or, even if he's not, he's not some rich *******! (or is he?)

Maybe they'll post his ESPN fight against some journeyman for the millionth ****ing time. That'd be great, it's not like we've seen that before and that it's not applicable to the higher caliber fighters. No, not at all.

I ****ING LOVE THESE TRUE FANS

Beating Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, and Ricky Hatton doesn't make you one of the greatest welterweights of all time, bottom line. It's very arguable that Miguel Cotto has a better resume at the weight class than does Floyd (with Carlos Quintana, Oktay Urkal, Zab Judah, and Shane Mosley).

Hatton fights like Duran in the sense that they both are aggressive and have quick feet, this allowing them to close the distance between themselves and their opponent quicker than most pressure fighters. But that's where the comparisons end between their respective styles.

Duran was a tactical genius who knew how to get inside while avoiding punishment. On the inside, he was masterful and unpredictable, putting his shots together upstairs and downstairs. Hatton is a face-first rough houser who isn't anywhere near Duran on the outside, doesn't have the head movement or defensive fundamentals of Duran, doesn't use feints to nearly the extent of Duran, and tends to hold/clinch on the inside. His fluidity in close is about two or three levels below.

Cuevas is clearly a notch down from Hearns, Leonard, Whitaker, or De La Hoya. Hearns and Leonard probably belong in the highest echelon along with Robinson. Mayweather has done nothing to belong in the same class as Leonard or Hearns at welterweight.

I don't understand why you ****s hate on Hatton. He's one of the few fighters of late who's been truly good for the sport.
