Here's why Ricky Hatton won't retire...

    Not because of the money..

    Not because of the titles..

But because he is a Winner, I'm not the biggest Ricky Hatton fan. But in this country our children in Nursery and in School, are told by the teachers....

"That it's the taking part that counts and giving your all"...that's the difference between us and the Yanks, they make winners...we have to find them.

From a young age, some children accept this statement and grow up ether to be average or losers, just basically people with the losers mentality.

There is that 0.5% of children that question this statement, some that furiously disagree with this statement, and slam their fists in anger.

I can remember when i was in Nursery...and i was told this statement by my Nursery teacher, there was aprox 14 children sitting on the carpet..."Including me", and it was on the eve of my first sports day....

13 children accepted and agreed with this statement, all but one..

    And that was me...

"I won every sports day, and every single event..every year..straight out of Nursery..until i left primary school"

Because i didn't agree with that statement that..

"It's the taking part that counts, and giving your all"

I'm just making an small example...

Other kid's agreed with that statement, turned up to loose..."They where happy just to be there"

Ricky hatton is also one of these rare people, this is not about sport. It is about a way of life, and how you approach things, Richard Hatton is a winner.

The fighter will go out on a loss..listen to what I'm saying..the fighter will go out on a loss.

But the man won't...but the man won't...!

Because the Hitman's gone, the hitman is not coming back. All that is left now is "The Man" the ego and the pride.

It is the same with Roy Jone's Junior, R.J's not coming back..all that is left is the man, the heart inside.

And tell me if im wrong..

Ricky Hatton's heart is still beating right..?

    He's not retiring...

    No ****ing way.

question everything esle about the man...

But don't question the mans heart..

    Amen..!

So, are you for him retiring, or are you for him carrying on as a shell of a man?

Congratulations on winning your sports day that is certainly on a par with Ricky Hattons achievements and I am glad such a sporting Adonis has taken time out of his busy schedule of training for the egg on a spoon race and jumping sack races to address us losers. However you missed the point of this message (the above quote); I'll let Vince Lombardi rephrase it for you so you can better understand it and its meaning..

"Winning isn't everything but wanting to is"

He was a yank by the way.

You probably have the most apt username on here, 'Primmadonna'. What a fantastic success you are. When can I look to a book on your exploits? Or is it a case of there not being enough paper in the world for your life story?:hail

my 3 year old says 'its not the winning that matters, its the taking part'.

grandad pig says it to pepper pig at school sports day i think.(fantastic kids program, pepper pig:hey:hey).this statement doe's not mean what you are saying, its not telling them not to win,its saying if you lose its not the end of the world, some people are good at sports, some aint,
and becouse winning makes some people big headed, bullys, telling kids who don't run fast there losers, like your self so it seems,u winner you:happy
