This content is protected http://www.fightnews.com/watt165.htm Looks like PBF isn't gonna be the only ripped fighter in the ring. Look at him there, with every punch on that heavy bag thinking that he's hearing the sound of breaking bones! Floyds not going to be able to dance his way out of trouble all night. AND THERES GONNA BE TROUBLE for the P4P best. This is the biggest fight of the Hitmans life. He's not gonna freeze. He's not gonna let Jr. have his way. He's gonna shock the world the same way he did against K Zoo, who everyone said he had no chance to beat. If I was Mayweather (& thank God I'm not) I'd be very concerned. 3 weeks to go!!!:happy
I make not profit n have no benefit on goin cynical on anybody's ass and since I know some of you are quite exultant and exuberant about Hatton's goal, it's completely beyond me how can I bring negativism into this, the game is definitely go along to get along. Obviously, I sense the ego, id and super-ego issues about Floyd Mayweather but I like him all the same - he has had some very ungentleman conducts like having not shaken a fellow pro colleague - boxer Ricky Hatton's hand when Ricky first met him - but we can cast all of that aside and focus on what can really happen... Ricky is ready physically ( already at 148 lbs), believe me, and he will maintain a good fast fighting pace no doubts whatsoever. Actually, I think he's clever enough and brave enough to get through to the final bell, he is robust and healthy to floor that gas pedal, control that gear clutch and speedometer needle smoothly and a whole lot better than 36 year old Shane could against Miguel Cotto. Floyd also doesn't scare the living Jesus out of anyone and good ole, brave Ricky is going for it but I look at the whole thing with some dread - maybe you fans are too excited and unaware, maybe Ricky's head is too thick to get the sense of it, it's more than just being courageous, he's conscienceless that he most probably is to be systematically whipped by a bigger, technically far superior and I believe, stronger man. I am goin to watch the fight but, at the same time, I do fear for Ricky - much more than I would for Mosley ( against Cotto) and 4 Holyfield ( against Ibragimov) and that doesn't make me more of a Floyd fan fo' sure, as anybody in this board should know. Please consider how Ricky has performed insofar and how potential risks outweigh potential gains... I think that if Hatton gets beaten to the punch as much as Gatti was in 2005, he doesn't have to fight through the punishment, endure the pain or prove his heart and status as a world class fighter, he doesn't have to "die" to please any one at all... 24/7 starts in a week or so and I'm sure we'll hear plenty then, but what do you guys make of PBF's silence right now and Ricky busting out interview after interview?
That may be really bad news for Ricky. Just look at Lennox Lewis vs Hasim Rahman 2. Sometimes when a guy keeps his mouth shut during the perfight build up, it's really bad news for his opponent.
That's my gut feeling. I don't remember Floyd EVER just shutting up . I've got a feeling he has really bad intentions for Hatton.
On the original thread post, I don't see how what a fighter looks like hitting the heavy bag tells you what he will do in the ring. Anyone can look good hitting a bag that isn't hitting back. Lets see how ricky handles it when his target is moving and coutering him.
