    47 fights 45 wins 32 knockouts 2 losses

the 2 losses are to the pound 4 pound best fighters in the world. arguably the best two fighters of that decade.

wins over urango, tszyu, malignaggi, collazo. and some tough UK fighters with good records like Smith, Thaxton, Tackie, Lauri.

For a guy that gets constant abuse on ESB i thought id show a bit of honourable mention towards him.

In a strange way, if his record weren't pretty good, he wouldn't get half the abuse. And if they didn't have that Hatton Wonderland song, he wouldn't get the other half either.

Smith, Thaxton, Tackie, Lauri are not good, domestic level at best.

To be fair to Hatton it was Frank Warren that put him in with **** fighters

NO matter how hard i try to give him credit, i just can't.. He was the most boring fighter ever in my eyes and i see him as another one of Warren's manufactured product.. Careful matchmaking was what got him up there..

Hatton is a B- level fighter

I been watching a few fights of his on sky player. i think if he had a better trainer he could have achieved more. I'm not saying he could have beaten Mayweather or Pacquiao, tbh theres noyone 147 or below that could beat either of those 2 in my oppinion. Hatton could have unifyied 140 because i think he could beat bradley/alexander and khan if he trained better and stayed in shape.

Hatton pre-Floyd got crazzzzzzzzy love on here.....but unfortunately people on ESB tend to be bandwaggoners if u will.

And if u lose to Floyd....u most certainly get downplayed even moreso.

Urango fight was terrible. Once he felt his power he clinched and avoided the fight.
Tszyu well i will give you that one although home refereeing gave him the advantage over an "aging" fighter.
Malignaggi Hmm if you consider that one good then go ahead.
Collazo got robbed. Well not robbed but the ref took a KD away from Collazo and kept him from TKOing him. It was his first HBO fight after signinig a 4 fight contract i believe soof course he couldnt lose.

The rest are C level fighters.

Oh yea and he got dominated by both p4p fighters that he lost to.

His style was so ugly thats why he is so hated.

    Agreed

    Warrens the *****,not Hatton

  10. I give Hatton a lot of ****, but he was a two weight world champion and the lineal champion at 140 for 4 years. He wasn't as bad as a lot of people think. Sure, his style was based on him being a "fat ****", coming into the ring 5-10lbs heavier than his opponents and using his weight advantage to wrestle and maul them, but it worked against everybody other than two of the greatest fighters to ever live.

Can't argue with that at all....:bart Ricky is an OVERACHIEVER. He's very raw, limited and Average talent wise. But his heart, determination, will-power and Champions spirit allowed him to do excel beyond what his physcial capacity should have allowed. I thought Hatton was a very good fighter and a very solid champion. Actully one of the most consistent Jr WW champions the divsion has ever produced.

I like Ricky. He is no all time great but he is a good solid fighter with some decent names on his resume. Unfortunately because of his less than pleasing style later on in his career and because of his legion of adoring fans who were sometimes obnoxious and over rated their man, Ricky's accomplishments tend to get forgotten by his detractors.

The Tszyu fight was the highlight of his career but it also ruined him a bit in terms of his style.

Whilst Hatton was never the slickest of fighters, pre-Tszyu he was a lot more crowd pleasing. He would come forward behind a decent jab and used quick footwork to get inside of his opponents and bang away.

When he fought Tszyu he used the right tactics. It may have been ugly and borderline illegal for some people, but getting up close and roughing up Tszyu negated Tszyu's power, took him out of his comfort zone (Tszyu was at his best when his opponent didn't put him under to much pressure and he could stalk his opponent around the ring) and quickly tired the older man who had only fought a few rounds the past couple of years or so.

Unfortunately Ricky kept up with the ugly mauling and smothering of his own work and whilst he was still succesful, he was far from pleasing.

Still, overall he had a good career and took challenges that a lot of other boxers never do.
