    Exactly.
Whilst Mayweather and Pac will, in all probability, go down as ATG's, Hatton had the misfortune of being around at just the wrong time.
I wonder if that perception will be in any way altered if Pacquiao's legendary status becomes diminished with constant rumours of 'stimulant' use?

Hatton could never beat Mayweather on ANY night of his career...it just wouldn't happen...although I do believe a pre-Mayweather Ricky Hatton may have been able to last 12 rounds with Manny...probably not though...Ricky is a great fighter but a notch below the likes of Mayweather, Pac, Mosley, etc.

He will be remembered as a top class fighter, but not a world class fighter.

He'll be remembered as an entertainer - when he wasn't busy trying to hug the opponent!

How did Joe Coretz "help" Mayweather? By forcing Ricky to fight without hugging and wrestling his opponent to death? Come on, be honest. He was being beaten fair and square. Mayweather was beating him on the inside and out. There was no one to "help" him.

He'll go down as a world class boxer who come up short against the elite of our era.

He has beaten some solid fighters in Urango, Collazo, Malignaggi etc. Also, it depends on what they do from now. If they go on to dominate, it'll benefit Hatton.

In my opinion he is very underrated on this forum but overrated by the British public.

It's going to be worse for his legacy if he comes back and loses dreadfully. Seems like an ill-advised idea.

The move up in weight win over Collazo was really good on reflection especially given his size problems.

Thought he was a bit unlucky in certain circumstances vs Mayweather and Pac but that's life really.

I dont think Ricky is nowhere near a great fighter but the hate he gets here is very unfair. People seem to forget that Ricky was only 1 fight away from being the UK's ATG, a top 30 ATG and perhaps atg @140. Now he'd be lucky to make the HoF.

Very good fighter in US remembered for his defeats to Pac & May unfortunately; Great fighter in UK with a fanbase as big as Russia. I'm about to make a poll about him.

im tired of this cortez ****.
Since when does cortez allow excessive holding?
I seen fighters get points taken away for less in a cortez fight he wants clean punches thrown. ONLY PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CORTEZ IS THE ONES THAT JUST WANTED TO SEE FLOYD LOOSE AS IF FLOYD WOULD HAVE LOSS IF THERE WERE NO REF
FLOYD WAS STRONGER WHICH SURPRISED ALOT OF FOLK

Ricky Hatton shouldnt be dumped in the garbarge because he lost either MMA has stars that have losses on there record. Both of Hattons losses came from the P4P #1 fighter
no shame loosing badly to the man that has that title as its truely earned and it shows by the performance of the men that carried it.

An excellent fighter with some very good wins and who only lost to the two very best fighters of his era. Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in Hatton's career.

His less than sparkling victory over Juan Lazcano did more to diminish his reputation in my eyes than either loss to May or pac.
